A wonderful little game with tons of replay value. I have spent a long time replaying it.

Wow. Just wow. 10/10 Better than Rewind (the remake?) I played this on and off for years since the first browser versions came out. The endless loop of starting weak and abusing in game modifiers to kill the boss monster by the skin of my Human Warlord's teeth will never be not fun. The game is full of references, ironic humor and goofy SOULFUL art. Fourth wall breaks and a meta-aware story perfectly blend together. It can either be bloody easy or ridiculously (one in a million) levels difficult. You can either be a gigachad and dive in to a dungeon without any advantage or bring a sword or two into the dungeon to help for the first two levels. Replayability is ENDLESS. Forever. Never ever boring.

The game still rocks till today. They'd gotten the Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup formula, condenced all the best features from it, added a bit of math, a reasonable amount of depth, very funny writings, light hearted graphic style and quite hardcore gameplay. The game is difficult like a common roguelike is. So you have to invest a lot of time in learning and playing it, If you're not a person who is ready to overcome yourself over and over again, maybe the game is not for you. BUT If you like DCSS, like I do, if you know the true meaning of the sentence "dying means learning" you definetely should try it and you'll like it a lot. The people who created the game, I am speaking to you: you're awesome, really smart and stole my heart with this one.

I remember playing this back when it first came out. The old original version, not this Enhanced Edition. Those were good times. A mix of great rogue-like fun, with gameplay that is a lot like fitting together a puzzle. But you have to choose, what is the best puzzle for this job? How can I make it work? Can I even make this work? I really, really enjoyed this game; and I just started playing the new Rewind version of the game too. I would highly recommend either one. This game is just great. Though, maybe don't get this version for full price, wait for a sale.
