Well that was something? First I suffer from major depression and I do not sound like a sniveling whiny little bitch. There are so many details that they missed: 1. take medication 2. the house is way too clean for someone suffering from depression. We put all of our energy into just existing that almost everything else gets dropped. There should be clutter on the floor, piles on laundry dirty and clean all over the bedroom, a sink full of dirty dishes, open containers of food and what not on the counter, and more. 3. The game is about following a routine. For deep dark depression which this guy seems to be suffering from there is NO routine. Confined to the bed sleeping days away is very typical. Overall I'm pretty disappointed how this game portrays depression. Some people may interperate that we have this little bitchy voice in our head.

I can understand why some reviews found this game insulting, given its blatant showcases of self-harm and images that, at least for me, were provocative and cringeworthy. Still, I do appreciate the symbolism shown such as having to take care of what was considered 'tasks'--tasks which in short, a significant part of what depression is. I like that it felt like the character’s feet were dragging, since it made me somewhat absorbed and present with what was going on around. Another thing was the figurative idea that while another door opened, another closed, which meant repeatedly moving room to room, again and again, feeling trapped and stuck in a loop. Plus, having the constant reminder of time through ticks of the clock, down to acknowledging of seeing nothing but death on TV--to having everything black and white with no color--I mean these things I think were portrayed in an effective manner, but I found myself having trouble with truly immersing myself along due to the lack of background story. Not to say the game was bad per se, but it was certainly a short and relatable experience. I'd say try it out and explore its themes.

This is currently my everyday struggle despite therapy, medication, self help. Depression isn't something to take lightly or ignore if your loved one even hints at needing help to survive but, sadly, most people are in denial, don't like those "icky negative downer thoughts", or are too busy with their own everyday life that they don't really pay attention to the signs. 10/10 for suicide awareness
