Decently entertaining. The plot is interesting, and while the voice actors are a little lackluster, I think they're doing their best with what they've got. Especially the pirate and the old lady. The music is nice, but doesn't really fit the story; it's very lighthearted for a story where we're trying to figure out how our dad died. Recommend with a leaning toward neutral.

It's pretty decent. The art is ok, the story is ok, the hidden objects are ok, the puzzles are ok, a few achievements are a headache, and that's about it. It's not the best, nor the worst. If you're not picky, you may enjoy it.

April 2024

An old-school hidden object game. Gameplay is average, puzzles are mostly not difficult. The game is separated into two phases which have several locations. Backtracking is common, luckily the map helps a lot. Some items are misnamed, there are some typos Graphics are really dated due to the age of the game, it follows the classic style of using photo-based elements. Sounds are average, the music is a repetitive loop. Although it could have been interesting, the story is poorly executed with several logical leaps. Contrary to other hidden object games, some of the achievements are unique to this game. Surprisingly, some are very difficult to get. There are 4 sets of collectibles and the player has to pay atention because there is no indicator for them as it is usual in modern games. There is a bonus chapter which is supposed to add to the story of the base game. Unfortunately, the fast traveling function of the map does not work here for some reason.

The game has some issues. Namely, it has a horrid English translation with lots of typos; also, multiple similar objects in a single scene where only one is correct (e.g. goblets), what generates a lot of misclicks. Story has huge plot holes and inconsistencies too - guess it's not really suspicious when a scientist's assistant teleports away in a cloud of black smoke, is it. Still, the ratio of HO scenes to point-and-click tasks is pretty good. I had fun. Hope sequels improved the areas where this one had failed, going to find out soon as I've bought the whole bundle xD
