This is the most favourite VR game for me. Actually, some players think that this game has pretty bad replayability, but I have the opposite opinion. Especially if you play in a party. I hope there will be similar VR games in this genre.

Demeo is a Co-Op, turn based, dungeon-crawler. Play solo or with up to 4 players, hunt down the key, find the door and escape to the next floor. The 3rd and final floor is where a fairly upset Boss resides. Take'em out, win the game. Sounds simple, right? Well, that depends on you and your crew. The game itself is loosely D&D-esque but without the D&D b.s. [...and to each their own] No numbers and time spent building characters, and dialogue .... ugh, not here, just pick a Hero and start playing. There currently are 5 Adventures/Books in this Eleven King Saga to play. [Hopefully more after they complete the Official D&D game Hasbro tapped them to do, but no official word from Demeo on more content] Each Adventure feels unique and has a unique Boss to battle as well. The first Book, Black Sarcophagus, is considered to be a good one to start for new players compared to the other 4. The 2nd, Rat King, is arguably the hardest. With the 5th Book as the conclusion, sort of speak. There are 7 Champions to choose from, each with their own strengths. The Guardian, Mage, Assassin, Hunter, Bard, Warlock, and Barbarian. I had just recently bought this again for Steam so I have ~45 hrs. in the game here but ~3k total hours on Quest 2/PC Edition. Most of the negative reviews I see are from players that don't "understand" the game. Opinions are fine, but judging because of ignorance is, ignorant. In this game you may actually die and not win, lol. And that should be okay. It is in failing that you try and play again, but with the knowledge from last matches "mistakes/lessons". There isn't a carry over Leveling System (and that turns some ppl off) but the Heroes can 'Level Up' throughout a match. I enjoy it that way. The only difference between players is the knowledge of the game from multiple play-throughs and not Levels, otherwise my Level 853 Hunter doesn't need your Level 5 Bard, lol. This game when it's all said and done is a very large Chess Match. Once the enemies actions are learned and "accounted for", it's nothing more than Chess: Demeo Edition. In Demeo the enemies will spawn from the darkness within each dungeon. So therefore, it is best to keep moving if possible. Meaning that you can't "clear" a floor of mobs. (Again, may turn some ppl off) but it's with the 'danger of dying' that ushers you to move, find the Key and go to the Door. Demeo can punish those that get greedy. Staying together is another good idea. If you get Downed, it is nice to be within reach of a team mate to be helped back up. The best part is ... it's in all in glorious VR, where you can 'be on the board', pickup most pieces in the game read/learn their attributes, etc. The Co-Op aspect is also something special as well. Demeo is crossplay, so you can play with other platforms as well as from other countries. Language barrier, problems? Nope. You can draw. Which, doesn't sound like much but is HUGE. You can usually figure out what someone is "saying" by drawing lines to enemies, chests, etc. Communication really helps in this game. It is nice to 'talk through a scenario' before acting to make sure "we're on the same page", BUT ultimately, it is your turn, however you'd like to take it. No VR? no problem. If you purchase it on Steam or Quest (Meta, yuck) you get the PC Edition FREE or vice versa. With PC Edition you can zoom in and such and it looks super clear and crisp and it does have it's pros but in VR the game really does pop but after a year and a half of having a 3lbs device strapped to my face ... I'm good. I enjoy the PC Edition just as much as the VR version. The VR versions (not PS5) also have Heroes' Hangout where players can meet up, set up a game, play a retro arcade game, jump into the painting room, shoot some arrows and more. It is turn based, so it can sometimes take a minute or so to formulate a plan and execute. The first Book usually takes about an hour on average with the other Books taking sometimes much longer. Depending on various thing: The Adventure being played, player knowledge, number of mobs, number of players, roll of the die, etc. Most plays are 1 to 2hrs. give or take. The longest match I've had was ~4.5 hrs. with 3 new players on the 4th Book .... and we lost, LOL. BUT even though you may lose a match or so, you'll of had a GOOD TIME PLAYING. And that's rare in games today. When a player loses, most times it feels bad and you'd get mad or upset and although it doesn't feel 'good', not ever once was I upset with the playing of the game itself as opposed to the decisions that led up to our timely demise. This game feels fun, even when you lose and with more knowledge comes quicker/better solutions. And remember, this game is not a rushed type of scenario. Relax. Tilt the board to your liking. Stand up, Sit back or Lay down .... and Roll the die. Happy Hunting Champions.

The game itself is fun, but the controls are extremely obnoxious, and every single game someone declares themselves leader and starts barking orders at all the other players. That gets annoying fast. I wish I could leave a "neutral review." Instead, I'll leave it as positive since the gameplay itself is fun.

This is my favorite VR/AR game to play. I have played the same levels countless times, and still find myself ready to play more. The sad part is, it sounds like there are no plans for further content. I would pay for DLC.
