Great sequel. Like the first game, this is very much an interactive movie with some puzzles. Go into to this knowing you will not be crafting, exploring, fighting or farming. That said, it is a great game if you need a little break from Satisfactory or Helldivers 2. Just relax and play it through. I didn't seem to have the same troubles that others had with the climbing mechanic. There was perhaps a little too much climbing but it wasn't too challenging. If anything it might be good to have a story mode so that people that want to focus more on the narrative don't have to struggle through parts they are getting frustrated with. I do agree that there is a bit of jank that you have to accept and the characters do look a bit uncanny. But overall I got used to it. The story line throughout the series seems to skirt a line between hopeful and hopeless. Looking forward to the next instalment, Deliver Us Home. Note: Ignore the haters that can't stand female characters in games. This game barely registers on the woke'o'meter.

Due to the many negative reviews, I nearly did not buy this game. However, I enjoyed 'Deliver Us The Moon' so much and was engaged with the story that I went ahead and bought it anyway. I love it! The story was very interesting and engaging, much like the Moon part, and it has left me hooked, waiting for the next chapter. A very large portion of the games I buy end up disappointing me, often not even bothering to play them to their conclusion. I am very picky about the types of games that suit me, and having played this a few times, I am left puzzled as to why there are so many negative reviews. Is the game without flaws? No, it has a few, but I have never seen a game that is 100% perfect, so 95% is very good. Many have mentioned the mechanic of climbing. I had no problem with that part. True, the climbing is not true to real life, but then the game is not a climbing simulator. If you are going to criticize the climbing, then you would have to criticize the physics of driving the Mars buggy. Now, I have never driven one on Mars in real life, but I can tell you the physics and mechanics of the buggy are not real, but then the game is not a driving simulator either. The game does a good job of making you feel like you are driving and a good job of making you feel like you are climbing. So for me, I can't fault either. In conclusion, I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews and bought it anyway.

This is a decent third person, short, sci-fi story driven game. The story is somewhat depressing and sad, so best not to play this if you are going through a rough time. I would liken this to a Life Is Strange type of game in terms of feel, but without the dialogue choices or any supernatural goings on. Almost the entire game is set on Mars which is pretty cool. I had no bugs or issues/crashes. For the completionists out there, the game is very easy and straightforward with no missables. Can be done in circa 10-12 hours and there is chapter select for mopping up anything you missed. All collectibles are tracked aside from Mars rovers - you will need a guide to find those 6 as one in particular is slightly off the beaten track.

Okay, here's the thing: buy it on sale, because the team deserves a few bucks for the effort... but then watch a video play-through. Seriously. Deliver Us Mars is a playable movie. Sorry: not sorry. The thing is: the "play" really isn't enjoyable. There's some light puzzles which aren't horrible but aren't particularly interesting, and there's a bit of a sense of exploration which is enjoyable, but the controls hearken back to the days of Flash games online. Yes: they're almost that bad. This was clearly a game made by a small dev team, and they spent TONS of money on the asset development and not nearly enough on the game code. ...or maybe they were forced to use a sub-par gaming engine by some management team. ...but it's plain *not enjoyable*. "The controls suck," to put it in common parlance. Like: really, really suck. This is one of those games where you will be constantly shouting at the controls, because they're arbitrarily restricted, there's no fluidity, they are sluggish at best, and they are just plain unsatisfying, from jumping to climbing to tuning to navigating in zero-G. The graphics are "good" ...though I have to complain about the models of people: serious uncanny valley action, there. But that's something you can write off as "style choice" and get past. It's not great, but it doesn't really *get in the way*. Granted: this was *ambitious*. There are many, many "mini-games" involved in all of the controls (swimming, jumping, climbing, flight controls, zero-G, docking, drone control, and more), and the team deserves some kudos for trying to tackle them all. ...but: woof. I do have to call out the voice acting here, though. It. Is. GLORIOUS. Really, really, *really* well done, all around. No weak links. It helps that it's such a small cast, of course, but everyone's good, and the main voice actors are truly spectacular. Best I've seen. Really: I mean that. One of the main actors, unsurprisingly, is Astarion from BG3, who is rightfully award-winning, but honestly I think he did a better job here than in BG3. Some really heart-wrenching scenes that he really OWNS. Amazing acting. The story was ... interesting? It was fine. Just fine. It kind of bugged me in how it resolved, but I think it had a particular message and that came through well enough, even if I didn't much like it. If you're on team MAGA, or generally the kind of person who disagrees that humanity is destroying earth because of climate change, then give this is HARD pass; it will offend you. You have been warned. (Not to mention, most of the main cast and the only playable character is female, and I'm sure that will also offend you.) All in all, I'm glad I tossed a couple bucks the way of the studio, because there's some decent work here and clearly they put in TONS of effort. But, sadly, the end result is barely-playable and just not enjoyable. It would have been better as a (very long) film. Sorry, guys.

A lot of love went into this game. The voice acting is great. Combined with the story, you actually care for the character. Although there is no time travel here, it reminded me of Life is Strange. Also they didn't forget to include lots of humor which is essential! The puzzles are just the right difficulty to be challenging without frustration or grinding. Although there is some timed actions required occasionally which I'm not fond of. that's probably the only thing I didn't like. The robots are cute and original in their sounds and reactions. Even the controls are so well thought out. There was a scene where you launch a shuttle for example and there's a zillion controls in front of you. They put you on the spot to do a certain launch task and you have to figure out which control to use and how. It was exciting. I mean I saw some games that want you to click and hold the mouse while performing complex circular motions or quickly press keys to increase immersion and make you feel like you're part of it but that's amateur hour compared to this especially since the control scheme is keyboard friendly. Apparently this follows another game in the same universe, possibly why there is a museum scene at the beginning where you catch up on the history/lore but I didn't feel like I am missing anything to enjoy this story. Think of it as (The Talos principal) with a more conventional sci fi plot and an engaging storyline. I have never heard of the developer but will definitely follow them from now on!
