Maybe the best tower defense game ever. Great challenging play. Would be better if the screen scaled better, so I would not ever have a menu on top of the battle field (I mean on a PC there is a ton of visual real estate).

I've only played one level, but the vibe is positive. I have played a bit of the first iteration, and I gave that one a positive review. This one seems to take the things that one did right, and improve it. The look is the same, top down, mostly looking like modern warfare so far, but the graphics have gotten better, especially the look of the water. I haven't seen air units yet, but I know they are coming, along with water borne foes as well, from my targeting options. There are now tactical options, which is always fun, but still no sign of strategic upgrades sadly. There is also still no fluff, which is a bummer, but not a big deal. There seem to be more guns as well, though I have only access to two so far. I can see that there will be seven or eight, a step up from the first one. The only real issue so far is that the maps still feel cramped. All in all though, a really solid TD offering, very pleased.

One of the hardest tower defense games I've played, got to level 5 on the mobile version The best way to enjoy this game is obviously on a bigger high definition screen for the Ultra HD graphics Also If you liked 2112td, youll like this game.

This is the third installment in the series. It has many improvements, but the basic game structure is the same as the previous two games. An important addition is the ability to go back to a wave where you were doing well and replay from there. It saves progress at each wave. This is very helpful because before, if you slipped up on the last wave, you could either end up with a poor score, or had to start over again from the beginning. This could be frustrating since each stage has maybe 30 waves, and each wave has sub-waves, so each stage can last for an hour or two to complete. Since this is an "Indie Game", which begs a proper definition, it is a remarkable achievement. The graphics are nice, the gamplay is polished, and there are plenty of towers and details to make it enjoyable. Still, it remains a rather simple game. You don't have any heros, the tower upgrades do not provide new functionality - just more damage and range, and, many towers become virtually useless, as you progress, leaving you with only the most powerful towers to use. The enemies, too, are not varied. There are a few types and they seem mostly to require more or less fire power to destroy. Winning, requires a relatively few set of choices, rather than clever strategy and many variations. All these factors reduce the enjoyability of the game. I still recommend it to the tower defense fans. It is certainly good for many hours of enjoyment. How many hours, will depend on you likes and dislikes, your persistence, and the like.
