Fun little sidescroller soulslike. If you are bored and like the genre then its definetly worth to play. If its on sale like right now then its a no brainer to grab, especially if you like games like Salt and Sanctuary.

Deepening Fire is a hidden gem in the action-platformer genre, with a unique blend of influences that make it a compelling experience. With visuals reminiscent of Hollow Knight and a decaying, dark fantasy world that calls to mind Dark Souls, this game is hauntingly beautiful. Each area is visually distinct, from the ominous swamp to the snowy mountains and even an ethereal plane, lending the world a sense of variety and depth that keeps exploration engaging. Combat is simple but satisfying. While enemy variety isn’t extensive, battles feel fast and impactful. Both the player and enemies go down quickly, keeping each encounter snappy and high-stakes. If the core combat style doesn’t resonate with you, however, there may be little appeal beyond this, as it doesn’t evolve much over the game. For those who enjoy it, though, the straightforward, reactive combat will likely stay enjoyable through to the end. The bosses are the standout element here, large and demanding precise blocks to create openings. Each starting class has a unique parry effect, which affects gameplay style; for instance, one class heals on a successful parry, while another sets their weapon ablaze. This makes the classes feel meaningfully distinct and rewards players who invest time in learning their mechanics. Character stats are relatively shallow, with most players focusing on damage-boosting attributes, but the option to respec is forgiving. Experimenting with stats feels welcome rather than punishing, allowing for flexible playstyles without a harsh penalty for curiosity. The final stretch of the game, however, is somewhat less polished. There’s a duo boss fight before the final boss that feels disproportionately challenging if you aren’t adept at parrying. The final boss itself can be frustrating, with areas in the arena that lead to instant death if touched. Learning the boss’s teleport patterns can take time, but for anyone struggling: the third teleport is the dangerous one—dash away and prepare to counter. Despite these minor issues, Deepening Fire is a strong experience that I’d recommend to fans of action-platformers and dark fantasy worlds. Here’s hoping the developers build on this success in future titles—this game was a fantastic journey.

Amazing souls like game but the player movements are slow, can you make it faster please

This game draws inspiration from both Souls-like and Metroidvania genres. While it’s enjoyable, it doesn’t quite reach greatness. It offers some challenging boss fights, especially with the “red tree mode” activated, though none are exceptionally difficult. The level design can be confusing at times—I found myself lost multiple times during my first playthrough. There are various classes and weapons/armor choices, but they don’t feel particularly impactful, and leveling up doesn’t make a significant difference either. Still, I’d recommend it, especially during sales when you can snag it for as low as $5. Overall rating: 6/10
