A fast, fun sprinter/racer by Sumo Digital, a company that certainly knows how to make those (the Sonic kart games, Outrun 2 and C2C, various Forza titles, and more), but this is unfortunately weighed down by too many bad decisions. The biggest one being trying to make this a multiplayer/live service thing. Of course that didn't work, it never works for smaller/indie games, and the game has been averaging about 5 players a day for months now. The last update was 7 months ago. Obviously it's dead as a doornail, but that would imply it was actually alive as a multiplayer game at one point and it never was. Thankfully though, there are bots to race against online, and a few months ago they brought in a couple offline modes. Unfortunately we come to the next bad decision, one of those two offline modes is called Episodes, which are basically challenges, and there are about 50 of them. The most difficult challenges you'll ever freaking play! I'm an old school gamer so I'm well familiar with video game difficulty. The genre I play the most are shoot 'em ups, and I come close to "1CC"ing most of them, so my reflexes are still decent in middle age. But these challenges, my god. If you make ONE mistake in the particular challenge you're probably not passing it. These challenges are several minutes long, and there's probably, I don't know, 100 opportunities to make a mistake. But one mistake and you're done. It would be nice if I could actually play these, ya know? Finally, this is more a generic complaint, but like just about every other kart/combat racer, this game is loaded with weapon spam. Finishing 1st has a bit to do with skill and a lot to do with luck, like if one of the other racers happens to have a heat seeking sawblade they want to chuck at you when you're a few seconds from the finish line. This is a fast, tough racer, so you can be on point having a sweet run, but still get wrecked left and right by weapons. So many complaints, but the racing is very fun! I'll say the word "fast" for like the fifth time because it really is, and there's such a fluid sense of movement from running to sliding to wall running to rail grinding. Once you get the hang of those skills, the game is pretty thrilling. Even though DeathSprint 66 seems dead there's a path back to making this something that can still get some sales and good word of mouth for years: Let's see a classic kart racing-styled tournament system vs. bots offline, and also lighten up on those challenges! If they do those two things, for me this would go from "what a shame and what could've been" to one of the most interesting modern racing games in a while. 7/10

Game needs marketing, console releases, and cross-play matchmaking. Idk why it's only on PC and has barely any online presence. But apart from that this game is honestly fun even just vs bots. Really smooth mechanics and great art. Solid buy, especially on sale.

Fun. Simple. Visually beautiful. It's similar to mario kart but gory. However I should say that I hate the presence of an EULA, whatever its reasons might be. I paid the price, I just want my game. I don't like to deal with legal jargon getting between me and something as simple as gaming. Also, I appreciate the controller support. It's good to have but I would love for the game to be optimized for the Steam Deck so I could make use of it. It works on the deck, but not very well.

Character customization would go a long way in this game. The races are intense and there is a good map variety but gamers love showing not just there skill but there style. Shoulder/Knee pads , chest plates and helmets would let people feel more invested. Also on that note being to choose male or female models. This game may not be the next big thing but It has a place where I believe it can thrive if the devs choose to do so.
