If you like Roguelike deckbuilders, you probably also like this one. Obviously with just shy of 7 hours of game time, I have not experienced the later difficulties and how they scale the difficulty, so I can't say whether it's done well or not. But what I can say is that the 7 hours I've played has been fun and not repetitive at all, and I have not yet even played all 4 of the heroes, let alone unlock all the cards. So it's probably safe to say that even with the price tag of around 20 moneys, this is "worth" your money if we're speaking €/$ to play hours ratio. Hard to say if this will keep you entertained for 20, 50, or 100+ hours, but I'll go ahead and recommend this either way.

Fantastic deck builder that brings a lot of new ideas to a well-defined genre. Can stand up there with the other greats. Well polished, great art, music and animations. Highly recommended.

If you like Card Battle games, if you like Slay the Spire, you definitely should give this a try. The art is beautiful, the animations are very well done, the game addictive. Bear in mind this is not the full release, so there are some balance issues to be tackled, but I am confident the Devs are working on it. I hope to see this game expand over time, as I want to play even more of it.

A wonderful game with great visuals and captivating gameplay. Even though I'm not a fan of such genre, Deathless manages to entertain you without making your head explode from memorizing various combinations and/or understanding complex mechanics. It's a nice deck-builder that lets you rest after a hard day's work or on the weekend. Also, it's always pleasant to see beautiful representation of Slavic folklore. The music is nice too.

Do you like beautiful deck building, roguelite, strategy games? Do you think you might be into it? Have you played games like Slay the Spire, Spellrogue, and Roguebook hoping for another game to satisfy that itch? Dare I say this is exactly what you're looking for. This does a lot of what those amazing games do and some of it...even better? Yeah I'm a huge fan of this if you couldn't tell. As much as I hate comparing games, I think it gives you, the buyer, a little bit of insight as to where my taste in games lie. I LOVE Slay the Spire. Roguebook and Spellrogue are great games, but neither one of them really quite hit like StS does. Deathless though...this beautifully does the roguelite deck building of StS while giving you the puzzle/strategy mechanics of positioning from Roguebook. It's balanced, thoughtful, and not to mention, absolutely stunning to look at and read. Deathless is a deck building roguelite that has multiple characters with their own stories and quests that incorporates beautiful art style/animation, great synergy in the decks, and risk/reward pathing. You choose a character that has their own stats and innate ability and you set out on a quest. The path is linear in the sense that you have a set amount of events before you reach a boss, but it's choice driven in that there's wonderfully written flavor text that describes your journey as well as your hardship/boons (modifiers and rewards) for each battle. I'm hooked in completing the quests as they seem to encourage multiple play throughs (which we were all going to do anyways) but unlocking new cards is pretty addictive too. At first glance, while I adore the artstyle, sometimes the 2d stiff flash kind of animation bothers me, but when you're in the game mid battle, you notice things like the giant bird shaking off a hit and the hand gestures of spellcasters that just lets me appreciate the artwork even more. There's a certain flow of things too. Like if I just start playing all my cards in a row, there's no annoying camera zoom > character moves > character swings weapon > character resets > camera resets. I mean there is if you play cards one at a time, but toss them all out there and your character just keeps swinging their weapon. It's a little nuance, but it's attention to detail like that that makes this game really special. What do I not like? I mean. Really it's just nit picking. One thing I loved about StS is that it could be very fast pace if you sped everything up and there wasn't much to the animations so it could run super smooth and fast. That's not to say Deathless isn't optimized well or anything, but the animations take a moment to play out. I'm not complaining, it's beautiful looking, but maybe when I'm 100+ hrs in, I'll get tired of it? I mean I doubt it, but still. There's also some minor complaints about the UI. I was trying to close the tab on my inventory and I accidentally chose one of the event options by accident. Super minor. My bad. But cleaning it up just a touch would be nice. Other than that? Nothing. Don't sleep on this game. I have a hard time looking at deck building strategy games, but let me tell you, this one deserves to be up there with the best of them. Truly a fun game I'll be spending tons of time in!
