Death Trash It's just awesome. It's hard to say exactly why, but it's just cool. The game seems unfinished at this stage, and there's some weird stuff going on in it. Plus, it has local co-op, and overall, it's just fun. There are titans, blood, occult themes, and killings. And vegans will definitely appreciate the storyline!

Strange, unique, good. Slow but steady development since years. Will likely still be years until finished. One day it might be a bizarre masterpiece.

Can't believe I forgot to review this. The game is super radical and groovy. Clearly a passion project by a creative talented guy. The vibes remind me of the original Fallouts and 90s classics like Space Quest, yet it's very much different. It's like the game was made specifically for me. The development has taken longer than expected, and will not be finished any time soon, probably. The main story is still unfinished. But that's ok. In fact, I hope the dev takes as long time as possible. Death Trash is such a gem, I want it to become the best possible version of itself.

Very cool game. Very unique world building. Very dumb things. Very vomit for profit. Very solid twin stick controls. Very good co-op couch gameplay. NOT VERY FINISHED YET THOUGH. Should you buy? The game is in EA and has been for quite a while. That doesn't quite mean this dev is done, as they are constantly reworking things to proceed further. This is a good thing I feel. That said, the game isn't done but is a fun play through for sure unitl you hit the dev wall. If you're interested, I'd say buy it and play under 2 hours. If you don't think you'll return when it's done, refund. If you really love it and want to see where it goes, hold onto it and keep up with the updates. TLDR; Good game but not complete yet. Dev does care.

Mix together Fallout 1/2's isometric camera & general movement (swapping turn-based strategy for real time strategy), Carrion's fleshy aesthetic, and Caves of Qud's "the world is weird, and everyone's okay with that" vibe, and you get Death Trash. For an early access title, this game's very good. Absolutely gorgeous pixel art, you'll probably get 7ish hours of enjoyment from a full clear run in the current build. That may or may not change as the game (hopefully) continues being updated. As it currently stands: -Combat is very simple. That does NOT mean it's easy. On one hand, there's a lot of finesse when it comes to brawling, especially with melee weapons which can stunlock if used correctly, but have delayed swings if used multiple times in a row. On the other hand, big battles can quickly become giant clusterf**ks, especially against multiple ranged enemies -Melee is currently very strong, especially early on when resources are limited. Paired with stealth, it becomes EXTREMELY strong and IMO the optimal way to play. The previous point regarding the chaos of large battles is largely negated by assassinations and mid-combat stealth via a tier 3 Cybernetics module. Both fast and slow weapons have their uses, depending on playstyle. Blades seem to far outclass blunt weapons, however -High Tech energy weapons currently overshadow ballistic pistols & long rifles by a wide margin, having both higher overall damage, and secondary utilities from hacking. Their downside of having rarer, more expensive ammo only really matters in chapter 1, where you'll want to be focusing melee and/or stealth anyway -Some skills seem interesting, such as summoning and elemental attacks, but I haven't experimented enough to say whether these are good or not. Because you can only have one active ability loaded at a time, I found it more reliable to just use in-combat cloaking and wait for the cooldown to reset before re-engaging. Block is similarly interesting, but I don't find it consistent enough to warrant giving up your ranged weapon for it. Can't say for certain, but I don't think the input buffers (or registers at all) if you're in the middle of a melee swing, leading to too much inconsistency for my tastes -Could definitely use more skill interactions for various scenarios. As mentioned before, there seem to be none related to pistols & long rifles, but plenty regarding High Tech/energy weapons. Cybernetics currently seem to cap in usefulness after you unlock in-combat cloaking at level 3, Occultism seems to be a mostly "all or nothing" skill and REALLY should have more interactions, given the overall tone/themes of the game. Empathy, the game's chief "diplomatic" skill, only comes into play maybe 4 times throughout the current build, with one of these instances being alternatively solvable via Barter instead. It offers NO other utility, and requires heavy investment to use. -Please allow us to pull a "that sign can't stop me, because I can't read" and give us more "interactions" with Queen Margas. Bonus points if it were to result in a special game over. The flesh calls, we seek to experience the royal weight Overall: fun, vibrant, worth a recommendation, even at the current completion time to price ratio. With that said, those wanting to experience the full game in one go might want to hold off until the full version's been released.
