I have to be honest I didn't play the Original Wii Version from 2008 when I was younger but I do remember the Frutiger Aero era that this game represents really well and really woke up my nostalgia for the times when life was much simpler. How did We get from such nice visuals that this game presents in really good way to Flat Slop to AI Slop We get nowadays? HOW DID WE DROP FROM THIS?! That's enough of complaints. The game looks really good on today's standards IT'S...SO...COLORFUL. It has really nice idea that different color which can be picked up or mixed means different beat to the soundtrack that you can actually select. Storywise It isn't really that great but from the gameplay perspective It's really good. You have to manage your time by completing challenges while coloring enough spaces to progress further in each level. Challenges go from races, to coloring specific building with different colors, to beating some enemies, etc. Overall play it If you wanna go on nostalgia trip, wanna listen to some great music or you wanna play something relaxing cause this game can definitely offer it all.

Criminally underrated game I've been obsessed with since I was a kid playing it on my uncle's Wii. Phenomenal music & musical integration with gameplay, super fun gameplay loop itself, such a unique presentation style and premise, so many collectibles and challenges, and for ppl with both ADHD and ASD like me, visual & auditory stimuli galore. Absolutely a must-play for literally anybody looking for something new. PLEASE show this game the love it deserves.

A lesson on color mixing, or a guide to performing a coup d'état of your fascist overlords? This was a childhood game for me, so coming back years later and 100%'ing de Blob as an adult has been both A:) A form of torture I would never wish on another human being, and B:) Some of the most fun gameplay i've had in a long time. Seriously, this game is a masterclass on environmental design. The cutscenes are adorable and quite well animated, and it's SO DARN COOL that challenge levels reward you with concept art and clips of early development. Between gorgeous set pieces (especially the Chroma Dam and the Hanging Gardens,) goofy little characters you can squash after setting free, a wacky, dynamic OST that is no doubt the reason i've been hooked on funk since my teens, and a narrative that treats you, the player, as an unstoppable force of colorful good, I just can't recommend you try this game enough. This port is quite solid and I did a majority of my playthrough with mouse and keyboard, albeit with stiff hands after an 80-minute level. There are only a few minor issues (as a windows user) that bother me: -When alt-tabbing or exiting the game, the mouse may stick to a part of the screen. Fixed by alt-tabbing again -Also when alt-tabbing, de Blob may refuse to maximize again, no matter what. Just use task manager to force minimize and force maximize again. -Dualshock 4 support (at least) needs to be enabled w/ Steam input, and binds can be manually changed by opening the launcher from the game files, and you might need to restart Steam completely to make things stick. Acts a bit funky -Less computer-related, but Blob is extremely sticky and you will find yourself frustrated by moments where you try to hop off of walls or stuck spots, only to fly in a random direction. This will improve with time! Eventually, advanced movement is fluid and extremely fun. If you are going for a 100% of this game, I have some advice for you: - BITE THE BULLET AND SWITCH TO CONTROLLER FOR THE CHALLENGE LEVELS. Oh my god, I have spent hours alone on 'Sinking Feeling.' de Blob was MADE for the Wiimote and nunchuck, you PHYSICALLY CANNOT complete that challenge level with mouse and keyboard. (if you have, oh my goodness, you have my utmost respect.) Lost highway also benefits here - the controls are much more snappy and conducive for, specifically, dodging the cars at the start of this one. -For the Ministry of Ink: Yes, mind the bridge here. Many guides have gone over the painting part of this level, and it took me three tries to paint it all. Frustrating, yes, but at least the level is fun! -For Lake Raydia: you. WILL. run out of/low on time if you are trying to do everything here. There just aren't enough time pickups for that. Thankfully, the timer will restart to five minutes if it is below five after you die -- A LIFESAVER! -- this can be used during the boss fight, as well. Save your lives, die strategically. -For Lake Raydia: If you are trying to 100% the painting aspect of this level, mind the two pillars alongside the gate into the final arena, you may need to repaint them, since the final boss has a chance to ink those two. ALSO, and this is IMPORTANT, there is a spire/spike to the left of the ramp leading to said gate, where a turret is stationed. This spike in particular is in the splash zone of said turret. do NOT make my mistake and lose seventy minutes of painting to this spike, and have to repaint the entire level. all that said, de Blob is downright STELLAR! If you've made it this far and have not played this game, have never heard of it, trust me, and please give it a shot when next it goes on sale. You have a great experience ahead of you

Controller only, however. Tried playing it with just a keyboard and mouse, and the camera wouldn't cooperate. Didn't appreciate that but a chill experience overall. I'm giving this a 7/10. It's closer to an 8 than a 6.
