The premier flight sim currently available. Nothing even comes close. This game is a magnet for older, prior service dudes to get together and nerd out over the toys they saw, used, or heard of in their time in. If you have the money for gear and modules, time to invest in learning the aircraft, and patience to spend years learning the intimate little things about aircraft - this is for you.

As far as military flight sims go, this one is the best out there. Then again, there's not much competition. With that being said, it is still excellent in many ways, while also being frustratingly idiosyncratic in others. Be warned, it's not a 'game' as such, there is little to be had in the way of quick gratification if you're looking for an arcade experience where you blow a lot of stuff up. Each plane has it's own systems to learn, which takes a while, then once you understand the basics for the weapon systems, you've got to practice delivering them effectively. It's not easy and even simple tasks take a lot of learning. But, and it's a big but, when you do learn the systems and things start to come together, it feels amazing. If you are going to play and you want to enjoy it, be prepared to invest in a HOTAS and some form of head or eye-tracking. I play the game with a HOTAS and Tobii Eyetracker 5 and I couldn't imagine playing without these. Yes, you can do everything with a keyboard and mouse but it will feel awful and will seriously hamper the immersion. Flight sims never were a cheap hobby, but if you put in the effort, you'll get a feeling like no other gaming experience can deliver.

It excels in both single-player and online modes, offering a comprehensive and immersive experience for all enthusiasts of flight simulation. Whether you're flying solo or engaging in complex online battles, DCS delivers a top-notch experience that grows on you as you learn.

I have literally only played for 3 hours and I have spent 200$. don't make my mistakes. (worth it if Flaming cliffs is on sale, otherwise run while you still can)
