2 minute TLDR: Warhead is a story spin-off focusing on Sykes instead of Nomad, so you are following along with the main Crysis story. Best to play through the vanilla campaign first to get the most out of the story elements dropped here. A couple of new guns too from memory, basically more of the same - worth going through if you haven't tried it before.

Before DLC plague our games, this is how an expansion was meant to be. As always Crysis Warhead was epic, brutal and interesting.

April 2024

First playthrough review time. Crysis Warhead is a game set in the same timeframe as Crysis 1 but follows a separate protagonist's journey. The gameplay is quite similar, with some new in-game features which enhance gameplay. Despite not having a remastered version, Crysis Warhead still has excellent graphics that hold up well. The plot is intriguing, offering a parallel storyline to Crysis 1 but from a different perspective. Overall, Crysis Warhead is a very good game with an engaging plot, excellent graphics, and interesting gameplay. Note: To change in-game resolution follow the below steps. 1. Go to Documents\My Games\Crysis_WARHEAD 2. Edit game.cfg with Notepad 3. Change these settings to your desired resolution (Example: 1920x1080 as shown Below) r_Height = 1080 r_Width = 1920 4. Save the file.

Crysis Warhead is standalone expansion to the original game. You play as Psycho, another member of the team, following a parallel story to Nomad, but on the other side of the island. It's not a long game, but the story is gripping and the action is good. All the great elements of the original game are here, as you use the capabilities of the Nanosuit to battle North Korean soldiers and aliens. As well as the single-player campaign, you also get the multiplayer Crysis Wars.
