I love it ♥ Bright-full, simple puzzles, simple story. You can dress up main character - first time I see this haha, nice lil touch! Good voice over, feels like characters talking and reacting to the environment and what other character said. Very much looking for the second part! It's fine that it's short, you gotta test the waters if it will do well on the market after all. 💔 Some combination of the notes is weird and unintuitive, got me stuck more than any puzzle. 💔 Not always clear what game wants you to do or what puzzle to solve. The more I played it the more it grew on me ♥

It's a decent point and clicker. Nicely drawn art, good voice-overs. Music nothing special but not bad. Story is not very engaging or emotional, but has a few nice spots. Overall story and ending was quite meh. Could have built on the family relations a bit more. Still, it is not too long a game to get overly boring, and provides a bit of point and click fun if you like that kind of stuff. Recommend to take a walkthrough next to it, helps get past the more frustrating puzzles that these games always come with. A bit of trial and error, then the walkthrough.. Remember to double-click to reach certain exits faster. Helps with the frustration of slow walking often. Seems to be on a good sale often, perhaps get it on one of those. If looking for a relatively short, ok, but not great, point and clicker. Recommendation is a bit in between but there is no such choice..

This game has some puzzles that aren't very logical (I did a little bit of trial and error a few times) and there are also some plot holes or perhaps an intentional cliffhanger (I don't know which one of these two is true), but other than that, I enjoyed playing this game. It has an interesting storyline, some funny dialogues, a small variety of solutions and choices, and many nice puzzles. Good job, developers. Till next time, don't forget to point & click!

A very nice adventure point and click experience. Story was average, nothing special. Puzzles were good but sometimes in these types of games there can be multiple solutions to a puzzle that might come to your mind but the game wants you to solve the puzzle in a very specific way, that breaks the immersion a little. Liked the voice acting a lot and music was fine too. Animation and Graphics were good. One thing I enjoyed was the slice of life things that were sprinkled all over the game which gave it a certain charm in my opinion. A short game but it is better to have shorter and tighter experience than long and padded gameplay. All in all very fun little game. All the best to the devs for future creations.

(Follow [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/42150626-Jarl%27s-Game-Treasury/]my curator for more reviews like this) Crowns and Pawns is a pretty decent adventure game in classic Lucas Arts style, with a few unique features and one extremely annoying puzzle of the type I hoped adventure game devs left behind two decades ago. You play a Milda, a young woman of Lithuanian ancestry, who receives a letter informing her of her grandfather's death. She inherits his old house in Lithuania and decides to journey there and check it out. Of course, things aren't as simple as they appear, and as she collects cryptic notes left by her deceased grandfather, she's pulled into a treasure hunt for the crown of Mindaugas, the first and only king of Lithuania. The story is classic adventure fare inspired by Indiana Jones and Broken Sword. If you played those games, you know what to expect. It's told in a lighthearted tone, but not as joke-driven as Lucas Arts games. While the story is fictional and contains a few fantasy elements, the game mixes it with some actual history for great effect. If you're familiar with Lithuanian history, you'll enjoy catching the references, if not, you'll get to learn something! Gameplay is classic point & click fare: collect items, use them to solve puzzles, talk to NPCs, etc. The puzzles are mostly logical and can easily be solved on your own, without the need for a walkthrough. I only had to look up hints for two of them: one is entirely based on trial and error (figure out the weight of an object without any hints), and another is an annoying action sequence. Action sequences in adventure games have been tried many times, but rarely work. Here, it fails spectacularly. During a bike chase, you have to perform specific actions at specific moments by clicking on specific spots in the scene. It's not fun, but with the help of a walkthrough you can get through it easily enough. This is honestly the worst action sequence in a point & click I've seen yet, and I've seen many. The game's most unique feature for the genre is the wardrobe. You can assemble your outfit from a variety of different clothes, and you can even change your haircut, with various options ranging from a short pixie to a braided bun. One early puzzle requires you to choose the right outfit to make an impression on a certain character, so it's more than just a cosmetic feature, which is nice. Another uncommon (but not unheard of) feature is that you can choose your profession in the intro - photographer, programmer, or psychologist - and one puzzle in the mid-game has a different solution depending on your profession, adding a bit of replay value. Overall, it's a solid entry into the point & click adventure genre, and I can recommend it for its unique features and charming treasure hunt story. The puzzles are just the right difficulty to make you think without getting stumped. The only bad thing in the game is that action sequence... but considering the quality of the rest, it doesn't impact the game's enjoyment overly much.
