Great game by great devs. The recent changes to the currency grind have been a huge QoL improvement, I now feel like anything I want is within my grasp after a couple runs and the multiple currency exchange in-game make it so no singular resource feels too scarce. One of the few bullet heavens where each character actually feels fresh and different + I can't just set every skill to auto and play optimally. Love the originality of each character, so much content in the game!

A simple but quite fun Vampire Survivor's style game with some meta upgrades done through a little town. The art is quite charming, and the various characters you can play as are all far more unique than most Vampire Survivor style games. However this is at the detriment of not being able to get those super hype builds as you get that 1/100 rare super combos on a map in other similar games. For me however this was quite fun as a change, as you also never get any trash builds once you know how a character works. In the end I did 100% the game (for what was available as I bought it) over about 50h. What kept me returning and having fun was unlocking new maps, characters and upgrading the town. However anyone starting the game I would recommend playing on higher difficulties as soon as possible. As higher difficulties primarily adds more enemies, which means more loot, more level ups and honestly more fun. TLDR: Overall, would recommend the game for anyone wanting a slightly different Vampire Survivor experience, and should only be more fun as more characters and things to unlock comes in future patches.

I bought this game a while back, played it originally and wasn't impressed. But I tried it out again recently, and it's much improved and I'm really enjoying it now. This is more of a twin stick shooter than an auto shooter like Vampire Survivors, but you still get all the rouge-like/lite elements of powering up, but with some simple base building - it works really well and isn't complicated. Also it performs great, on a Steam Deck this thing sips power, same thing on an Asus Ally, where at 10w you can run it for hours at 120hz with no slowdown - really impressive as the screen can get very busyt.

Pros: 1. All heroes have a vastly different play style, the most unique of all survivor games. 2. Heroes will have multiple builds to choose from but are cookie cutter, in terms of how it's played. 3. Auto-cast on/off available. Mandatory for various heroes and builds. Subjective: 1. Elite enemies are underwhelming. Elites have a dash attack or stay-out-of-red-circle mechanics. 2. Health can be gained back from RNG abilities or picked up from environmental foods. 3. Repetitive - each map has the same enemy spawns in order. 4. There are a lot of global unlocks to increase power levels. This game is easily winnable without unlocking everything. Global unlocks cannot be turned off. 5. This game is kill count based and not timed. 6. Roll to win. This is not a game which allows you to be tanky and take repetitive hits - excluding health pickups. Cons: 1. The harder the difficulty, the longer it takes to finish the game due to the increased kill count requirement and health increase. 2. No alternative/key 2 key-binds available. 3. No option to increase or decrease game speed. 4. There's no save or backup option. All resources collected during a disconnected match is lost. <BUG> Some visuals create too much clutter, however, reducing the opacity prevents important visuals from being seen. For example, on 10% visibility, Farmer's thyme is invisible, yet, all other crops remain slightly visible as intended. Some spell effects or creations from Fisherman and Alchemist need the same visual fix.
