There is just something about opening a game, running around completing quests then logging off within an hour or 2 that ticks all my boxes. Gives me the time to go and do real world things without stressing about completing everything for the day. 10/10

A cute game which features very low pressure gathering mechanics -- would be a great choice for anyone who wanted a slightly spooky harvest moon.

At first I was a bit disappointed because when I bought this I didn't understand that it's basically an "hidden object" game, most of the gameplay revolves around it... and I hated it. This is just my personal preference, the game is good, I'm just really bad at it and I feel stupid when I can't find something that is right in front of my eyes. Thankfully, you can pay one of the NPCs to tell you exactly where you can find the objects needed to complete the quests. As you can read on the store page, Cozy Grove runs in real time and there's a limit to the quests you can do each day. This is one of the things I liked about the game, but if you'll like it or not depends on your preferences. It's a slow-paced game and the gameplay can get repetitive, maybe even boring... yet I played it for almost 90 hours and didn't even realize it. Every day since I bought the game, I turned on my PC and logged in. I checked what Mr. Kit and Valentina had for sale, I did a couple of quests, I fed my animals and maybe collected some resources while walking around the island. If I had found a new decoration that I liked, maybe I'd decorate for a bit. Then I would log out to go play something else. It is absolutely not necessary to log in everyday, it's not like the flowers could wither or the animals need you to feed them. All the "important" quests that are required to progress the main story are not time sensitive so you can skip those that are if you don't wanna do them. Also, you can save and exit the game whenever you want, no need to "go to bed to end the day". Oh, and since I saw a lot of people comparing this game to Animal Crossing (they have some things in common but don't expect the same game), I'll just say one thing: while I love that game, I really don't like the music in ACNH. I like playing this kind of games while listening only to the ambience sounds and I really don't like that you can't turn off the music there if you want to, so I was extremely happy when I saw that here you at least have the option. In the end, I realized that the more I played it, the more I liked it. It's cute, it's relaxing, the stories are nice and you can hug all the bears.

Pros: Literally the cutest game Cons: I feel like there's too little amount of game play they 'allow' you per day. If they gave that as an option versus a requirement, this game would be amazing.

šŸ»šŸŖ¦ Cozy Grove šŸ»šŸŖ¦ is a life-sim about camping on an everyday-changing, haunted island. You are a so called ,,spirit scoutā€™ā€™ and you explore the island every day, where you find new hidden secrets and help the region's spirits to rest. the game itself The game runs in real time, just like other games in that genre like for example Animal Crossing, means you get a daily dosis of 1-2 hours of quests and active gaming. After that, you can continue exploring, decorating, foraging, fishing etc. There is a huuuge amount of things to explore on this ever changing island. The weather changes, the nature/forrest changes and most important the seasons. With every season you get new critters, butterflyā€™s, fishes, fruit, seashells, flowers and other things to collect. The villagers of our island have unique and tragic backstories for us to cope with. You start with just a few bear-villager and after doing some chores for them, more will come. You get your own little tent and campfire, you can upgrade your tent by ,,feedingā€™ā€™ the fire and later you can decorate your tent as well on the inside. controls The controls are perfectly fine on PC and everything works, the hotkeys are wonderful for quickly accessing certain tools, but I find the controls for Nintendo Switch or with a gamepad very tiring, especially when placing the decorations and fishing, catching insects. the grafics and art The game is drawn in a comic style with big eyes and cute and cozy looking objects. Some of the objects are spooky but very fitting. The colors are very appealing to look at, especially at night when everything starts to glow. You can even deactivate the ,,night / day ā€˜ā€™ switch. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3138309079 my pros 1. The cozy but yet spooky aspect. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3156978257 2. The aesthetic of the game and its items and characters https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3178094113 3. The changing seasonal festivals There are many seasons in this game and not just ,,summer, fallā€¦ā€™ā€™ here its like: ā€˜ā€™Early spring, spring, late spring Early summer, summer, late summer..ā€™ā€™ and ongoing for different fish, critters, seashells, trees, bushes and flowers. And there are 4 different seasonal festivals over the year. 4. The animals There are different animals that are needed for resources. These are also beautiful to look at and start to glow at night. You can feed and pet these animals and they then build a bond with you and evolve to different stages. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3191178381 my cons 1. The ,,Endgameā€™ā€™ of the original game without the DLC. The longer you play the story and the more ghosts you unlock, the less ā€œcozyā€ the game becomes. The first characters were wonderfully thought out, the fates were tragic and exciting at the same time, but a few of the last bears brought strange, unpleasant aspects into the game, and I didn't like any of the last bears anymore. They were simply unsympathetic and no longer ā€œcozyā€ and destroyed the aesthetic of my island. 2. The way, how the Devs handled the DLC. It really bothers me, that once you complete the main story, the DLC bears replace others. One of my favorite characters has been replaced by one of the DLC bears. I wish they had just enlarged the island instead of replacing "old" bears. 3. The clumsy controls with gamepad and on console. 4. The lack of space to store things. By upgrading your tent, you get more storage. But once you reach the upgrade limit, you need to build storage chests. They are very expensive and the biggest ,,let downā€™ā€™ is, that you canā€™t color/mark the chests, so you never know, whatā€™s inside, and believe meā€¦ you will need a lot of chests for all the gatherable resources. my opinion on the whole thing I've been putting off this review for ages now because of my mixed feelings about the game, but now it's time to write it, before Cozy Grove 2 will be published. I really, really enjoyed this game for a long time. I started playing last year in November and still play it these days. Even after I ,,completeā€™ā€™ the story, I now just relax while fishing, picking flowers or catching critters. The changing weather/seasons is always giving a new feeling every day, so you can come back after a while and surely see something new. You can really slow down by just playing a short hour a day of this game and relax in your speed. I absolutely recommend this game anyways, because I had so many relaxing and nice time with it. And last but not least, thank you for reading! If you like my review, you may also like my curator page! I would be very happy for a followā¤ https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43807398/
