I think its a shame that this game didn't get enough success to keep development going as I think it was a fun little and quite unique survival crafting game. With hundreds of games coming out every week on Steam its hard to get noticed these days. At least they gave us an offline mode so that when the official servers go down we can still play. RIP Coreborn!! I had high hopes!

The first thing that jumped at me was the music and art style, from world building to the friendly NPC look and great atmosphere. Played both solo and co-op, and have to admit the experience was awesome while playing with friends. Gameplay is fun and the learning curve for combat and skill progression wasn't extreme. I'm usually a console/controller gamer, so my only regret is the fact that the game doesn't have native controller support. Would love to see this coming in the future.

TL;DR Great game to play with friends, but solo progression is locked behind group play. I would recommend buying the game if on sale, as you can lose yourself for hours just gathering and crafting, but in the current state of the game you will definitely HIT A WALL unless you have some friends to play with. 6.5/10 in current state as of 03/17/2024 FULL REVIEW ___________ So after playing the game for 30 hours, I've really enjoyed playing, but also I've gotten quite frustrated over some game systems. In the current build, the game is hard locked to 60 FPS, which can be frustrating if you have a high end gaming system. That being said, the graphics were still pretty and the game is beautiful. The new player introduction system is great and introduces you to some basic game mechanics, but perhaps needs a few more things added to it to round it out (like continuing to build your town, sending you to different npcs around the map to get to know the lay of the land, crafting weapons and armor, etc) I love the gathering and crafting system, they both seemed polished and work well, and I like that you gain increased amounts of resources as you craft better gathering tools. I especially liked that when my bags were full the a message pops up letting me know, and the additional items are still there on the ground to pick up once I make some room. I really liked the storage system, and being able to craft wooden crates with icons on them was a nice touch. It would be great if additional storage crate icons were added in future patches, especially some generic ones (maybe with some geometric shapes, or numbers, etc). The base building system can be enjoyable, but it's also a quite frustrating and still needs some tweaks (example terrain collision engulfing ground pieces, not being able to move your town center, etc). I had to restart my town from scratch a few times because the floor tiles ended up disappearing into a small elevation. The rotate and resize controls work well, but the system needs some smaller pieces and/or the ability to scale pieces down more than is currently permitted. I often found myself wishing for a small flat piece, and the closest I could get was ceiling tile and fence pieces, but they were too big even after scaling them down. The Chat system is very bare bones and definitely needs some love. With only one chat channel to talk in, no way to communicate with someone privately (that I could find), and no way to find other players on-line (unless you happens to see their name in the game), it makes grouping up with others quite challenging. I saw the messages telling players to go to Coreheim to interact with other players, but in my 10 or so visits there, I never saw another soul. The discord channels for connecting with other players are a good start, but there needs to more in-game tools for players as well. I understand the potential for bots and scammers to abuse on-line player lists and mailboxes, but those tools really help players connect with each other. The town attack system is fun at first, until you realise you can't possibly level your town more than a few levels solo. Level 2 crafting stations are locked behind town level 10, but by town level 5 one person is already being overwhelmed by attacking npc's. As far as I can tell, you can't even reach new tiers of weapons until you reach Tier 2/3 Crafting stations (aka town level 10), so you are stuck beating on things with the same twig weapon, which makes trying to overcome the mobs of attacking npc's impossible. Not being able to upgrade weapons took a lot of enjoyment out of the game for me. Reducing the requirements for Tier 2 crafting stations would be a nice change. I understand the Developers want to encourage social group play, and it makes sense to lock some higher tier game mechanics behind group play, but locking basic thinks like upgrading to the next tier of weapon behind group play takes a lot of enjoyment out of the game for me. Perhaps making the game a bit more solo-friendly would encourage more players to join and check out the game. I saw quite a lot of unfinished abandoned towns during my play time, and I'm wondering if this was due to how difficult it is to progress in the game without a group to play with. I'm going to be keeping tabs on the game and watching it's progress, and hoping some systems are added/modified to make solo play more enjoyable. Game has a lot of potential and the road-map looks promising.

Interesting World Building and Design so far. The NPCs are cute but seem a bit boring on the surface. Combat is a bit janky but fun. What really shines is the Sound Design tho. Whoever is responsible for that deseves a Raise. It's extraordinary to say the least. Unfortunately the Game is stuttering quite a bit for me as of now, but it's Early Access after all. For an Indie Studio a very good looking Game overall.

I played 22 hours in an Early Access title and enjoyed all of them. Waiting for new content for now, and hoping development continues. This felt like a cozy attempt of a multiplayer game. All people I have met were super friendly and helpful. Keep in mind, this is a title in development by an indi dev. Do not expect a full game and take it, for what it is for now.
