It took me a couple of attempts to finally get into this game, but it really floored me and I couldn't stop thinking about it days later. Makes me excited to play their other game! People have compared this game to DDLC, but I would disagree. Though they both are advertised as 'cute and unassuming,' DDLC leans into breaking the 4th wall and scatters a bunch of hints/lore throughout, while Cooking Companions really builds on an in-universe story and looming sense of dread over jumpscares/shock value . I found Cooking Companions more creepy though; everything about the basement was so unnerving and I thank god every day that there were no jump scares there . I did enjoy both games like many others, so its safe to say that you would like this if you enjoyed DDLC. (I def got more emotionally attached to CC though.) My only gripe with this game is that your decisions will always lead you down the same path (Karin basement scene). There is no happy ending for (all of) the campers, but I guess that's the sad reality of the illusion of choice . Definitely recommend though: bunch of additional modes, easy to 100% achievements, music is BOMB, and there's a lot more to it than what meets the eye.

Game play wise, this is a lot like Doki Doki Literature Club, you can tell just by looking at it. If you like that game then you'll like this one too. It doesn't take as long as DDLC to get into the horror and has multiple endings and a lot of unlockables. The horror is great as well with a lot of creppy images and moments and backstory.

Loved the story line for this game!! The deeper meaning behind it all is crazy. Would 100% recommend if you like visual novel games. Can't wait to play the next one <3

This game was so good, but it left me paranoid. The game was filled with plot twists, and lots of horror. The game is filled with lots of story, and reading, and it left me questioning what would happen next when you reached different modes. I originally saw the game from a YouTuber, and i became obsessed. This game is probably the best horror game that I've played so far, and I would recommend it to people who want something that will make them question what might happen next. Maxing out relationships gives you awesome, and new dialog that you would really need to make saves for. From what I noticed as well, maxing out your relationship with different people gives you different endings, or different scripts. I love this game so much, and it makes me so happy to finally play it (even if it did leave me questioning my sanity, and if i was alone in my house!) This game makes me feel adrenaline with its intense, or scary music, and the random jump scares that catch me highly off guard. Playing this game with someone who has not watched any game play to this game is amazing, because they don't know what would happen next, and only i would. I absolutely love this game with all of my heart.
