I thought I was a good man. It turns out, I'm the kind of man to sell his soul for a totalitarian regime. I just shot an old man because I didn't like the tone of his voice, and I've massacred countless freedom fighters in the name of our Great Dictator. I must defend the borders of our glorious socialist paradise from capitalists, imperialists, and old men who let their passports expire. Not on my watch! I'll gladly drive you, and several friends, to a labour camp for the most minor of crimes. Watching this filth break rocks is my elixir (apart from Vodka obviously). I don't accept bribes, and I do use my pistol at the slightest provocation. I might even take out your vehicle with a grenade. Glory to Acaristan, death to traitors, and victory for the revolution comrades!

If you like Papers Please you will like Contraband Police. This game adds more depth to the idea as well. Car chases, shootouts, investigating criminal cases like a detective, and the number of things to check is significantly higher than in PP. It is amazing how many times I think I have thoroughly checked a vehicle, only for the car to leave and me being scolded for having overseen things. It is equally frustrating and motivating to do better next time. The game is well worth the money and there have been good discounts recently. The graphics are a bit outdated but this is one of those games where the gameplay takes center stage. Glory to Arztotzka!

This game came out of nowhere for me. I wasn't aware of it until I randomly saw it on YouTube, then I thought it would be one of those silly cash-grab games that you play once or twice and forget all about it, however to my surprise Contraband Police actually has a lot of content and it actually plays very, very well. Imagine the fantastic Papers, Please but in 3d, and now you also have to check the vehicles on top of the people. On top of it you also get some side missions, along with managing your checkpoint, upgrading and buying new vehicles, buildings and personnel. Sometimes having to drive around personally and deliver prisoners and contraband. Along with the campaign (which comes with its own missions) you also get endless mode which comes with more upgrades. The rule set changes frequently here, so there's always something new to do to keep it entertaining. Honestly, if you liked Papers, Please - you're going to love this one too.

Honestly only installed this game because of CaseOh and I gotta say, it's actually pretty fun. I think the Indie game takeover that's happening is great for the current climate of gaming.

I had a guy arrive at the border in a van saying that he was carrying medicine to cure children with stage 4 cancer. Unfortunately, his passport was expired by 1 day so i slashed all of his tires, sent him to the labour camp for the rest of his life and blew up the remaining contents of the van with a grenade. 10/10 game would recommend.
