amzing game but dont buy unless your desprate as sea power (another game made by the same devs) is coming out in november which will have submarines and suface ships and air craft carries and planes

92 hours in and I am still learning some aspects of the game, how passive sonar works in particular. It's really fun :) * I miss multiplayer mode, that would be awesome. Wolfpack against wolfpack, or one-to-one. * I also miss proper Linux release. I am using Proton to run this game, and so far there have been no major glitches really. But still. * I will probably grow tired of this game 150 hours in and stop playing it. There is not that much content. But for me that is okay. I dont want to play games forever. ----- UPDATE @ 203 hours --------------- This game is SO MUCH BETTER with the mods (esp. the "EPIC MOD"). It was a Nice game without mods, but with the mods its SOOO MUCH BETTER. Number of campaigns are more than quadrupled, it's possible to play Russian, French, Chinese, Brittish, Australian and Swedish submarines. Some of the Russian submarines has nukes that can be used in-game, which is not as over-kill as it maybe sounds, considering their normal armament is pretty lousy. I REALLY liked the visual effects of the EPIC mod. It get Really Dark a handful of hundred meters down below. And visibility is limited. While this visual occlusion can be disabled, ofc, it gives a much better game experience. TBQH it feels like the modders maybe did at least as much as the original game creators. I hope some of the money earned goes to the modders. I will continue playing this game forever :) I hope there will be a sequel and that it's released for Linux as well.

Cold Waters is an excellent submarine simulation including the hunting submarines of the modern era. The campaigns have different levels of difficulty and also different scenarios. The submarine simulation is challenging and requires a high level of concentration. The game can be difficult at first, but after a while you get a good overview of the units. Between the dynamic campaign missions, short illustrations and newspaper articles are shown, which gives a good immersion of the scenario progression. Overall a clear recommendation.
