Thanks to the devs for the game! I enjoyed it, I would have liked more gameplay variety, but the basic gameplay loops are addictive.

Good game IMHO. You can spend endless hours engaged in the game if you want to, and the progression feels very good throughout most of the gameplay. 8.5/10 in my opinion. Would have liked more variation of enemies, because late in the game they seem like empty meat and pointless until the waves of bosses come.

I wasn't even fully sure if I should keep Codename: Ocean Keeper in my list of bullet heaven games. After all, it's certainly a hybrid of sorts. The player gets to control a fairly slow mech in a 3D top-down view underwater environment, looking for caves to explore to mine minerals. When entering a mine, the player controls a diver in a peaceful 2D sidescroller mode, where they get a limited time to extract said minerals - which then can be spent on upgrades for either the diver's speed, mining power or carrying capabilities. Going forward, the diver can even use drones and mines to increase their mining capabilities. When the time runs out, it's time to rush back to the mech, and the bullet heaven-esque formula begins, with a lot of sea creatures to take down. The chill mining gives way to intense action against a couple waves of a lot of enemies, moving slowly as hell even with upgrades but with increasingly wild firepower between automatic and manual attacks alike. When the waves are over, the timer begins anew, and the player can choose to continue exploring a previously seen cave or crawl with the mech towards a new one and dig up the stuff from there instead. This formula is honestly a lot of fun, with both the relaxed nature of the mining and the mech combat parts working quite well. As said, the movement of the robot could certainly be faster to accomodate a more dynamic genre like this, but the challenge is in the positioning too. Variety isn't too high for now, with only a handful of weapons and skills to use, which don't really allow for major variety in builds. Permanent upgrades are present, but again without that many options and with rather slow progression. Still, this is one of the most unique takes on the genre thus far, and I can see myself coming back from time to time, as content updates and fixes hopefully improve the already neat formula. Upgrades are cool, but have you tried screaming at your screen for 10 minutes straight?

I've really enjoyed playing Ocean Keeper and wanted to share some thoughts. First off, the atmosphere and color palette of the locations are amazing! 🌊 The underwater world feels so vibrant and alive, making the exploration super fun and immersive. 🐠 However, I think the game could use more variety in monsters. Adding unique and challenging creatures would make the gameplay even better. For example, a megalodon would be awesome to encounter. 🦈 Also, maybe consider adding giant monster crabs 🦀 or mythical sea creatures like krakens or leviathans. These would definitely spice things up and make the underwater world feel more dynamic and exciting. 🌟 Thanks for creating such a cool and visually stunning game. Can't wait to see what comes next! 😃
