Clatter is a rental turn-based tactic in which you create and manage squads of combat robots of various classes, trying to outplay your opponent. The project is designed for multiplayer, there is even a rating system: if you are a skilled commander, then quickly run up the "ladder" and fight with rivals equal to you. In addition to multiplayer, Clatter also has a career mode. Rating 7/10

Seeing all the vapid comments about Rust I thought I'd give the game a review for people who want to actually play the game. Clatter is cute fun, the gameplay is most similar to Into The Breach or chess. The game has a bit of depth with mechanics to account for such as: armor, attack direction, line of sight, and elevation. While they are not the deepest of mechanics, it does make the game feel more unique. The singleplayer is pretty fun. You get cash for trying to complete challenges and can spend it on upgrades or more robots. So if you want to build a team of only one type of robot or max as much damage as you can, you're able to. As you use your robots their durability goes down and you repair them with scrap collected off of fallen robots. This means every couple of rounds you might have to swap out some robots for others with higher durability. The AI is not the smartest so I won the majority of my games but it can put up a challenge at times. It took me about 5 hours to "beat" the singleplayer but once you reach the highest rank in singleplayer then the gameplay will start to loop while retaining your roster of robots. The game is pretty dead so if you are getting it for the multiplayer you either need to find a friend to play with or look for a niche of people to play with. I did play a few games with a friend of mine which were fun for about an hour but I do not think I will be going back for more. Overall the game is simple yet fun. It is a nice strategy game to just chill out to. I bought it for full price and think it was worth it. The game goes on sale for $2 so if you are looking for a cheap short and sweet turn based strategy game then this one is a fine choice.

Multiplayer 'Into the Breach' if you're wondering. Simple on the surface but has enough depth to fuel a competitive scene for quite a while with what's already here. Leaderboards, daily missions and map challenges, fully customizable team captain and stadium elements, there's a lot to toy around with for a budget title. For those of you not into multiplayer, there is a surprisingly robust campaign mode. You can name your captain as well as your team and create a team logo. The logo editor alone is almost worth price of admission. Campaign/solo mode expands on the gameplay with mods for your units, a marketplace for buying and selling mods and units, and various leagues to battle through. You also get three save slots so you or a friend can run other campaigns in tandem. If you enjoy turn based tactics, you are bound to enjoy this game, especially for the price.
