Graphics are 16 bit, as you can see -- but don't let that fool you, this game has more personality than games with a lot more shine in the graphics department. Atmosphere is very gritty and you really get the sense of fighting against hopeless odds. character and equipment development is both simple and worthwhile, provoking meaningful choices. Fun achievement system that effects future playthroughs. Constantly tests your wits with staying for more loot or pulling out before it's too late, and the game has a lot of depth for being so simple (but elegant!) I just played through to the end of my first playthrough which took 17 hours more or less and got a horrifying ending. I'm looking forward to eventually getting the best ending! Highly recommended.

A hidden gem burried under the algorithims. To anyone fortunate enough to stumble in to this game I 100 percent reccomend it if you are up for a challange. BUT if you want to get a good ending this is the darksouls of rts games for sure. You will be crushed by the cycle of morale getting lower (increases action costs) agro getting higher (increases the amount of enemies) While you go after the vaccine develotment you wont get much bullets. agro will go up when you need to get fuel and eventualy you will run out of necesary resources to keep the agro at bay. Leaving you with fists to beat 100's if not 1000's of enemies. Easy mode pretty much just lets you save more often which is kinda useles. Defenately should have added an option to keep something for the next game after you fail or finish it but 100 percent recomend if you like getting your ass beat and falling in to despair as you wait for the inevetable end.

This is one of those games where you actually have to make sensible choices to win, which is why Im giving this a thumbs up. I don't mean its particulartly hard, but if you just make random choices then you'll probably lose. Unless you got a solider with the katana, which makes the game very easy. So I'd say avoid using the katana if you want an interesting experience. The UI on the other hand is pretty bad. For instance, there are shortcut-keys for switching to melee, but not to switching back to ranged. This is extra annoying in one part of the game where you lose your GUI for some strange story-reason and if you switch to melee then you're stuck with melee. And the mouse click doesn't register if you move the mouse before you release the button. So for me this is a weak thumbs-up.

I played both This and the second game. Not gonna lie both have a lot of problems. This is not a bad game by any means but they left in easily fixable stuff in for some reason. There are a lot of translation errors but it doesn't effect the game that much. Way better than the second game at least. Both games has problems in their basic mechanics like you cannot select weapons for your soldiers. Some engineers come with a turret some with a pistol. Turrets shooting dead stuff and wasting bullets. There are more but at least it's not very bad. They should have fixed this game completely instead of moving onto the second one.

I brought this game really not expecting much out of it, but honestly, this is a really good game, the moment I boot it up, I was fill with nostalgia, this game has that late 2000/early 2010s top-down zombie survival horror flash game vibes, which is really nice, it almost feel like this is one of the games that I grew up with. While the game style looks simple, the game itself isn't that easy, other than RTS gameplay like it advertised, it has some RPG elements, resource management, and a little bit of that extraction mechanic like something from Escape From Tarkov or Zero Sievert, it's fun, the devs really created something that's fun and atmospheric from all those ideas and components. But like I said, the game is not easy, it's really easy to not realize that your time in the area is out and have your whole squad overrun, or neglect certain resources which makes later game needlessly hard or even just soft-lock you entirely even on just normal difficulty.
