Absolutely amazing city builder game. A bit dated on graphics and game-play, but if you're looking for something to just play and relax to, the ambience of this game is a fantastic go to.

Children of the Nile: Enhanced Edition is your standard city builder with plenty of scenarios to test the player's ability to adapt to given environments along with events that range from predictable to unpredictable. With how much information is available to players within the tutorial stages and information boxes for every clickable NPC, structure, and cartographic symbol on the world map, the game is readily learnable for those versed and those unversed in its genre. Technically speaking, there are noticeable errors in how graphics clip through each other and how unreasonably seamful it is to place structures diagonally, the product will overall operate function as intended with only a few of its aspects demonstrating its datedness.

Flawed but enjoyable. I have played this game since it was released in 2008 and pick it up every 3-4 years for another go at it, lost the CD years ago so got it in a Steam Sales years ago. For the time this is a very detailed game it is just a bit flawed. Sandbox mode is what I play on and get so far before my city is mostly temples and still everyone complains about lack of worship facility for the many gods. 40% of my workforce end up having to be priests. Some other minor bugs plague the late game so as quick I pick the game up, within a day or two I put it back down again. I do recommend the game though if you want a relaxing city builder set in this time period.

Can be fun if you enjoy older city builder games, though it suffers from some bugs. In my case, the achievements don't count properly.
