What an awesome game! The learning curve at the beginning was a little discouraging, but once I clicked with the upgrades and customizing armor, weapons and magic--it was an addictive and thoroughly enjoyable game. Metroidvania maps are very important to me, and this game's mapping layout was so helpful and clear! Bit Kid's pixel art is gorgeous too, with deep color tones for the biome backgrounds that somehow make the foreground sprites really pop. Highly recommended!

Very neat, well-packed little Metroidvania. Def recommend. The only negative thing I could say about it, is that the story isn't as deep-going as other and that's why it's a nice and short game.

I dont get the complaints that the map is "randomly" generated. It doesnt make a huge impact on game play. The only complaint I had is that in the last area there is no way to teleport back to town and there is only 1 save point halfway between the start of the zone and the end boss so if you die you have a hike to get back.

got it on a discount but i wouldnt pay 20 euros for it So what is chasm chasm is adventure rpg metroidvania with platform elements. you find loot through killing enemies and these loots have rarities making a new game not feel the same they also do procedural generated rooms. but that doesnt really make the game flow better i'd say this game is perfectly average, or MID in how people would say. the main issue lies in it's rpg elements wich are fine but arnt really capitalised on, like you find gear and sometimes come with a kill wich can be lvld. by killing mobs, but you only find like 2 in the entire game and their from secret chests. if the game had fleshed out the equipment system more we could actually experiment moren with builds other then " more magic / more atk / or crit " . the music is there but it's also quite mid theres no thumping tracks no bumping boss battles just it's there and it exsists. the game isnt as hard and difficult on the platforming, theres no sense of being stuck in molasses it's just very static with it's jumps and the skills give you more to manouver and the backdash also helps. the adventure is also quite Mid , there are secrets but theres like only a 1 time solution for it. like you use a time potion only once in the entire game theres no extra puzzles or things that use multiple anwser wich was kind of a letdown. platforming is the one thing that isnt average it does feel warranted and sometimes a challenge. the challenge is still Mid i do like the enemy and boss designs. those where quite nice the game is relatively short too so it's like between 6 and 9 hours. some of the upgrades come a bit too late. for how far you are in the game + you have a blacksmith you cant upgrade your exsisting equipment with him? that was weird allright overall verdict. played through it , enjoyed myself but overall a very MIDtroidvania. theres deffinetly aspects could've cooked longer. and not the worst but not the best either so its not like you shouldnt play this.

Awesome game! Stunning 2d visuals, love the controls. Played the game until 100% achievements because it was so much fun to play! My main criticisms of the game would be: - The game feels very linear, which isn't a big problem but to me it feels like a wasted opportunity to add more variety to replays, and to give more sense of freedom to the player, and maybe more options for speedrunners. Especially since the stages are randomly/procedurally generated. The random changes felt very minor. - Some backtracking required to get treasures using new skills. Nothing that bothered me, as this is typical of metroidvania-types, but I can see that can be bothersome for some people, especially since the recall/warp scroll is very limited and expensive on the early game. - Shops felt limited and kinda useless later on. Potions, Spells from the magic shop and the Onyx ring were practically the only things I bought. Other than that, you're expected to find better loot from chests and enemy drops. I would have appreciated a more comprehensive crafting system, with more weapon choices and possible upgrades. - The scaling of the luck system felt a bit weird to me. Very few drops early on, due to the low Luck stat, and a bunch of drops on the late game, which makes sense in theory but I wished I could have explored more equipments and different weapons in the beginning. I could buy equipment, but as money was also scarce (and it took a while to even find the blackmith and his hammer), I ended up using what I found on the way. Meanwhile in the late game I already had my preferred and optimized equipment, most drops felt a bit useless. - A few of the boss and enemy attacks felt cheap, but it's only a big problem for the no-hit challenges. And with enough patience and practice, they can still be mastered. Overall, loved the combat system and the movement, liked the story and characters, loved the visuals and will make sure to follow future releases from this developer! : ) Great work!
