Fun and wholesome story, that goes also a bit on the horror genre. The two main characters are well written, the yokai isn't as much, but she is cute. The art is also enjoyable, the music is generic but still does the job. The story is short, but it is nicely paced and the writing is fine. With the multiple endings, I can only recommend it.

Everyday we stray further from god What drove me to play such a game? What part of my soul felt so empty that I thought a virtual girl could fill it? When I look into the boundless depths of my own loneliness I see a pool of reflection. My face isn't there, there is no face. There are only tears in that pool, tears of shame and loss and confusion. If it were up to me again I know I would play it in a heartbeat, I know I would load it up and skip through the countless window prompts so I can have a single morsel of pornographic images which are readily available online. Yet, despite the abundance of naked virtual women waiting in the digital sphere, I still chose to play this game and devote hours of my life to it. That time will never return to me, it is lost just like my soul and just like the time I fear I may never find it again. There is something broken within me, something that desires sensation beyond my reach, something that whimpers every single night with the knowledge that there is no true Princess, it is a merely an illusion. In my pursuit to find meaning in this long life, I sought the colorful lights and sounds of a world that only exists in a pop up window on my computer. I am unsure what the moral of this review is, I am unsure about my place within the universe, all I know is that no amount of virtual girls can cure the vast rot that has overtaken me

It's a short and sweet visual novel. Certainly worth its time and price.

So just fully completed Chasing Tails ~A Promise in the Snow~ It describes itself as a: yuri comedy/horror visual novel, featuring a haunted house, fox-girls, and GxG love ❤︎ Let's break it down: Yuri: Yes Comedy: Yes it made me laugh so much actually. Horror: Barely. There were only a couple of instances of it, and my cat has scared me more than this did. VN: Yes and a very pretty one at that! Haunted house: Check! Fox girls: Yes. GXG love: I mean love is a stretch. Little kisses here and there a bit of g***ping and accidentally falling into a (clothed) breast cloud but nothing that would make you feel weird looking at - unless my perv threshold is higher than the average person, which is likely. Honestly I did everything and every story was unsatisfying to me. Nothing ever amounted to anything, not the characters, not the lore (yes it had lore) Even the horror plot kinda fizzles out into nothing. But somehow, I can't say I didn't enjoy it, I had a lot of fun and isn't that what games are supposed to do at the end of the day? I love writing about games, picking them apart in my head and trying to convey that on the internet (to varying degrees of success) but for all the fault I could give to it, I couldn't help but smile the whole way through. I will continue to write about games, this didn't give me some sort of epiphany or anything. But it did teach me that maybe we don't always have to over analyse things, justify why a thing was good or bad and reduce a game or any medium into those smaller parts that somehow lessen its value, and by extension the joy we felt while experiencing it. Just let yourself enjoy what you like sometimes, it feels good. ----- Now BRB I didn't realise there was a free 18+ patch with actual nuddy till I'd finished it... BAKA!!!

I'll be real the game is pretty solid for a visual novel because the story is genuinely good. Combine it with GIRLS KISSING and youve got a good mix. There's also a free adult content DLC if you're into that I suppose It has *some* replay value if you want to get all the achievments (it's kinda tricky?) or if you want to see where specific choices lead you Also it goes below a dollar on sales sometimes so the game is pretty much free if you catch a sale
