Ah yes, it's always those types of games that are addicting to me. Watching cute animals on a board hop around each other, munching their neighboring fellows, and breeding like rabbits(literally) is exactly what I needed. There are a lot of animals to unlock and combine to be able to pay your cat god the sum that they deserve at the end of each stage. The sounds of the animals are ok, I don't think they are annoying, and especially if you skip the animations you won't notice it. Not much else to say, I do enjoy it and would recommend it.

Luck Be a Landlord with cute animals who make adorable sounds, surprisingly deep and satisfying considering its casual look. Thought I was buying it as a fun trinket to show my wife, but then I'm 3 hours deep going "I can't believe that my tiger ate my eagle which ate my dormice, I am never gonna financially recover from this"

I can't believe I haven't seen this mentioned in some of the reviews - this is a Luck Be A Landlord game. It might have a little more depth with a few more starting variables in the form of 'cat gods' (variable characters) and 'farms' (zones) and you can choose your starting decks to a degree. Its a little more abstracted with the animals coming out on a farm and not a nice neat grid, but once you get used to it its very easy to parse the information. LBaL will always be the best in the genre it created/popularised - but this game seems like a solid move for the formula to shift in the right direction. Needs a little cleaning up language and formatting wise to tidy it up and remove a bit of the cheap feeling to some of the menus, and from what I can see needs a bit more of an endless feel once you have unlocked everything but they still have an active roadmap so it looks like a bit of a sleep hit.

Another fine entry into the Luck be a Landlord category. It is polished, with loads of content and fun mechanics.

Overall it's a cute, fun, and highly addictive game. My only problem is that its very frustrating when you have figured out ways to generate points that are magnitudes above the stage requirement only for your points to go integer overflow and end up not pass the stage (you can do this very consistently with some combinations of animals in the mouse-rabbit family and crawling family). Games like Balatro also have this issue but it happens way more often in this game even when you are not intentionally trying to break the game. Maybe some sort of Bignum implementation can solve this issue.
