It’s less about just surviving waves and more about getting creative with trap placement and crafting. Only thing is, some of the skill points don’t feel meaningful. Hope they add more interesting upgrades.

TLDR: Scratches that itch that games like OG Dungeon Defenders and Orcs Must Die has neglected for so long. Combat is fun and the character building has lots of options. I recommend this game if you like the genre! I'm very excited to see what the full game has to offer. Pros: -Art style, music, sound effects, animations are all very enjoyable! Especially love the animations, swinging around between bridges looks fantastic. By far the best part of this game. -LOTS of options for weapons/utilities, other reviews I see complain about "grinding" for good gear but never really had that issue -The two factions you fight offer different challenges with their elemental resistances. The enemy designs are also very unique and look great. Cons: -Weird UI decisions, such as only being able to adjust game volume from the main menu. Also didn't realise until halfway through game you could "Change" the weapon you craft into a different variant. -Yes materials are plentiful, but why is respecing so expensive? It just discouraged me from ever experimenting with other builds. If anything I hope this gets removed the most. Neutral: -Game isn't too hard, little bit of a difficulty curve on the second "world". However, once you learn to go for "triad" combos the game becomes trivial, and levels become sitting shooting in one direction waiting for the wave to end. I also don't understand why the final waves on levels with multiple enemy doors only sends one door of enemies at a time. Hope to see a true challenge mode or boss fights upon full release.

I just finished all of the levels that are currently in the game and overall, I do recommend you check it out if it looks like something you're into. The game is sort of a 2D Orcs Must Die in a very nice pixel art style. The good - - Gameplay is fast and responsive - The pixel art is great - Traps and weapons FEEL good (More on this later) - There is a good variety of items The not so good (Suggestions for development) - - The menus are a little too stylized for me. It's sometimes hard to know where the interactive elements are sometimes. - Skill points are a little lacking. None of them are exciting at all, just things like '+2% to physical attack of towers" - Progression and crafting are just not quite there. Most of the "good" items are given out by the half-way point, and I didn't ever need or want to craft anything again. Not sure I like the "random chance at getting a tier 4 item" system. - The gadgets/clockwork items need some work. There is a cooldown placed on your weapon when you use any of them that made me hesitate to use them most of the time. In the time that the weapon cooldown takes to clear, I usually could have killed twice the enemies that the item did. - English localization has quite a few issues. spelling mistakes are still pretty common throughout, but not so much as to be a major issue. - While weapons and towers FEEL good, most of them are not actually good in-game. I found several weapons and towers to be vastly superior to all the others, so I just stuck with them throughout the whole game. I did try all of them, but the others were just too good. Things like the pendulum trap and revolver blunderbuss feel about right, while everything else feels pretty underpowered. - Melee is just not super viable when you have so many enemies that shoot. Especially when some guns are just so much better in general. - The fire wizard guys who place 'totems' with no countermeasure are kind of irritating. The totems just last too long and totally lock you out of their radius. - I genuinely tried to use elemental stuff (Like lightning), but found it really lacking in comparison to just the basic pendulum, spikes and crates. Flame thrower turret was cool, but all the others were much weaker than I would expect. All that said, I do recommend the game, especially if you can pick it up on sale. development does seem to be headed in the right direction, so I'm hopeful for this one.

Its a Doom Guy Tower defense that you don't just place towers and let it run, you also have a major role in running around and smacking enemies with your stick or maybe even throwing a oil bomb and shooting it with a incendiary shotgun to coat the oil covered enemies in a flame bath, the Rage mechanic you can get that makes your stamina no longer deplete, is kinda buggy if you get rage but have no stamina then you kinda wasted this ultimate power by no just freezing you stamina completely and now you have to swap to a ranged weapon or one of your skills to do damage other than that its a fun tower defense with good music a good way to keep you active and cool imagery to keep your face smiling
