This is a great little game forming. Lots of rough spots. Amateur mistakes like typos everywhere. But altogether a fun and immersive game that has both beautiful and action-packed moments. The style is IN the low-pol,y, kinda like Windwaker. Balance is good. A lot of detail could yet be added to weather, sea mesh, and NPC AI. I'm enjoying it and it scratches an open world seafaring itch left behind by Atlas. This is the little game that could, hopefully. Until then, its definitely already worth the run.

This is a simple game in certain ways: You chop down trees for wood and coconuts, collect rocks to use to build weapons, and collect plant fibers to make rope. This is very straightforward and kind of fun in a way. Then there is gameplay out on the open waters, which is a bit more challenging, as there are sharks to deal with. Combat is also fun, but there are plenty of times when running is the better option. I've seen many games with a lot more bells and whistles that simply aren't fun. Captain Bones has focused more on making a game that's fun than making one with a thousand options to choose from. It's well worth playing, and is as refreshing as a swig 'o rum on a scorching day!

I bought this game on a gamble after skimming through the pirates and ninjas sale. I got sucked into the game for 5 hours this evening. I must say that I am impressed. The game has a far more fun sailing mechanic than classic titles like the "sea dogs" series. I love how you can adjust the mast so the sails catch the wind and also steer with the rudder. This is far more intricate than Sea dogs or the other sequels. The game has really fun quests. Digging for treasure marked by X's on found maps, eating and drinking which is not a pain in the butt like other crafting games. the grinding for supplies does not take hours to do. There is naval warfare, you can hire crew and buy cannons, the cannon action ship to ship is very simple yet very fun, its much like a lot of other pirate games where you position your ship using wind to your advantage and as long as you have crew they can man the cannons while you aim and fire. The boarding action has been perfectly executed, you come right along side and jump over with your crew, use pistols an swords and subdue the enemy crew. There is a fun part of the story where you are cursed by a dead pirate "Jack" so every evening you turn into a skeleton and must try to not be seen by soldiers until you turn back to a human or you will be attacked. I am only a short way into the game but I have already upgraded my ship a small pinache or small sloop from the raft you construct in the beginning. Love the simple yet pretty artwork and style to the game too. I look forward to this game being completed but its already very playable and there have been no bugs encountered.. I am very happy with the game thus far. Big thumbs up.
