Fun game. Run around, kill humans. Lots of pixel gore If you find the game too hard, try following: 1. Pick a gamepad. Aiming with mouse is difficult, cursor lock on helps a lot 2. Improve contrast in the settings 3. Play on first difficulty

I've barely played it and this game slaps, especially for the price tag (but I got it on sale anyways). The main thing I wanted to mention was this: It is hard. BUT DON'T LET THAT DETER YOU! There is an easy mode free DLC if you're having trouble. If you're wondering just how hard it could be, imagine hard mode (the easiest mode) being Ultra-Violence on doom. If you're one of the crack-heads that has a reaction time twice as fast as the average person, you'll be right at home here. However, as a casual gamer, you will die. A lot. But I highly recommend giving at least hard mode your absolute best shot! Don't give up, after all it is the way the devs intended the game to be played. The one way I can put this game bluntly is that it feels exactly like a movement shooter like doom or turbo overkill, but 2D. Good luck and have fun :D

I think the theme of this game is mainly based on ms dos era games like Abuse (1995) and Alien Rampage (1996), with significant terminator/predator influence. And the gameplay itself, just like Abuse is similar to famous id software games like doom or quake, so Its very fast, fluent and satisfying. Graphically, however, It does not look like games I mentioned, rather it resembles 8-bit games such as Super Mario Bros. I understand that it was easier for the developers to make a game with these graphics, but considering by what games It might have been inspired by, it would be better to go with 16/32 bit graphics. On the other hand, the way the game looks like gives it a certain simplicity and maybe greater possibilites of movement and speed. Butcher is the game that introduced me to run and gun shooters, or platformer games in general and I really enjoy this game, because It managed to blend elements from all my favourite games. The only flaw is that this game is very short, and even though It has level editor there is not many community maps/content.

BUTCHER is hard real hard i mean duh?! one of the first things that pop up when you boot the game is "easiest mode is hard" like wiping the floor with you hard but its also pretty fun. If you wouldn't realise yet BUTCHER is gory real gory, limbs fly, enemies scream in pain and terror when they get shot, enemies are twisted beyond comprehension, and everything will want to kill you wich applies to the enemies too, you can do some sick tricks kicking an enemy on a meat hook or getting them mauled by a spider saw. The combat in BUTCHER is great real great, guns are loud and punchy. Most of the weapons you carry are carried by the enemies too and they are as powerful as yours are. I've...uh died around 200+ on my first playtrough (easiest difficulty) and yep BUTCHER enjoys wiping the floor with you, and sometimes it breaks your blood you need a lot of patience for this game but if you get past the more boring levels this game gets really really intresting. It deserves a good spot in my blood and gore collection i can give it a 10/10!
