Important Notice DON'T REFUND THE GAME IF IT DOESN'T LAUNCHES -> [url=https://www.reddit.com/r/Burnout/comments/u2zzpk/burnout_paradise_remastered_bug_and_crash_fixes/]Bug and Crash fixes guide <- If you are currently facing this problem, it's the combination of MSI Afterburner & Rivatuner running that is causing the problem. As soon as you closed them temporary, the game will launch at once with no problems whatsoever. If the problem still persists, de-activate the Game Overlay in the EA launcher settings as well. I am a huge have of Burnout Paradise since the Ultimate Collection days and i coundn't have access to the DLCs back in the day, but the Remastered version is perfect.

I've never been a fan of Avril Lavigne. I would never have imagined that the thing would fit so perfectly well with cars flying at 300 KM/H destroying everything in their path in an inferno of blur and particles. Apparently this is the best environment to listen to fast, melodic songs about teenage heartbreaks from 15 years ago. Just glorious. I'm "lucky" not to have a webcam, my nickname doesn't contain specific characters and I normally don't have any overlay turned on. So I didn't have any problems starting the game like the many that were reported in the reviews. Frankly, although the game is amazing, if any of these things mentioned are too much of a deterrent for you, I would say leave it alone or look into purchasing the game for console. After all, on top of that, you still have to deal with EA's DRM. So, precisely, this is only positive, specifically because I was lucky enough to not have any problems (yet). The game itself is an absurdly fun sandbox, full of quick and simple objectives to complete and a direct and satisfying progression. An addictive, incendiary and energetic experience, in a playground that you explore with a car tearing up the roads using infinite nitro in that sublime balance between extremely fast and barely controllable. Frankly, this is one of those games where you don't even need an objective to have fun. Simply explore the city listening to those songs and perform unbelievable feats of destruction. Or make a wrong turn and see your car turning into a block of compacted waste... Burnout is a franchise for psychotic people who think racing games could do better with a good dose of violence. Definitely recommend. (The Game, not the port).

The forbidden version of this game takes up less space, works offline and usually has fixes for most of the common crashes. It can also run on Linux, if you just copy-paste the files from a Windows install. Don't even bother downloading the game from Steam or Origin, EA clearly doesn't care about us. This is a great game. If any of the original developers remained I would recommend supporting them buy buying the game, but they've moved on to different companies LONG ago. No point giving money to EA for the remaster either, they really didn't improve the game at all. The only improvement over long years of waiting is that EA ported all the extra DLC from the console versions back to the PC. This is something they should have done years ago, no point in supporting them for that. Especially since they're using this mostly singleplayer game as a vessel for their always-online DRM.

As you may have read on the other reviews, this game is broken, it'll either crash on startup or just after the first cutscene, and I believe what causes the issues is the feature where the webcam is on the whole time for some reason, also, it's an old game so it definitely has issues with newer systems, the only fix that worked for me was to install a patch, there are several guides on how to do it but the thing is, this game only works modded, using BPRModder you can install said patch and it'll work as usual, any controller, no crashes and all that. Now onto the game itself: It's really fun, I had never played a Burnout game before, only Need for Speed, which actually got me this one, years ago there was a bundle with most NFS games that also included this and at first I just dismissed it, but since then I've decided to try it out once I was done with NFS, and it definitely has it's own charm, feels a lot different and arcadey; you're gonna crash, a lot, and it's gonna look cool as hell. The other thing that at first was a real trouble for me is the fact that this game has no gps directions, you gotta use your own route and while at the end you'll know your way through most of the not so big map by memory, it's still pretty fun to take a different road to your destination. There's a good variety of cars, challenges and race types, my favorite were the marked man and take down which are focused on crashing other cars and avoiding being taken down. Challenges might get a bit tedious specially online since you depend on other people, but since the game it's still pretty popular you'll find other players quite easily (also try checking the steam forums there's people wanting to play there). Regarding achievements, it's a grind fest, there's a lot of collectibles on single player, and without an in-game map you're gonna be searching for that single smash all over the map, an internet guide/map is recommended. In conclusion, try it out, do not forget to use the mod to fix it and have fun crashing through Paradise City!
