After playing for over 12 hours in total and reading through some of the reviews, I'd like to say that some of the reviews although they have a fair point, are a bit too harsh in my honest opinion. It's true that it has some bugs and performance issues but it has the start of a great game. I love the Greek aesthetic and the general flow of the game, It just needs some tlc. Anyways, for anyone who loves city builder genres, I would recommend to pick it up, even at this stage of development.

Great game, as player of Pharaoh, Caesar and this kind of games. If you like city building/sandbox, this game is a must. Anyway the game still in Early Access, but I feel confident developers will greatly improve it in the future, but even in EA I'm having a lot of fun with it. Keep up the good work!

While it's not entirely what I hope it to become yet, it is first greek polis building game since Zeus&Poseidon (while having a pretty noticeable influence of Anno), looking pretty good. Plus devs actively looking for feedback. Anc since it is in ED I hope it would become much more fun. Might become one of the successors of Z&P and Caesar.

You will notice that many reviewers have spent less than 10 hours to form an opinion, which I would say it quite unfair. It seems to me that as a game it has received a fair amount of love and it's worth playing even in EA. To give you a brief idea: Pros - Beautifully themed city builder. - Quite solid inter-dependencies to build your city (if your lower class is not happy, neither will the upper classes be) - Encourages you to have a central hub (the Agora) but if you do not create satellite cities you will not succeed. - Infrastructure is king, and the game allows you to focus on the bigger picture rather than micro-managing. For example, if you suddenly realised that a building that has been operating for the last few hours is in a bad position, then no problem! Destroy it, build what you want now in its place and rebuild the old building somewhere else. The population is smart enough to understand that their new home is somewhere else now. - Population grows very fast and is auto-capped based on number of houses that are within a market's area. This means that you do not need to wait for a population to grow (although that is a nice mechanic as well). - Technology tree that actually makes sense. Cons - UI is a bit clunky and old-fashioned - Camera controls are a bit weird but you can change speed in the options. x/y-axis reversal does not work. - There is a slight learning curve. - Time passes very weirdly. Not clear when you will receive your next tax-budget from your citizens. - Military Control is also weird. You can create a group of soldiers but you cannot direct them to attack a specific enemy unit. You tell them where to go and if they meet with the enemy they will engage. Oh, did you leave your soldiers somewhere and forgot where they are? Too bad. :) - As your city grows it becomes difficult to distinguish how many of what kind fo building you have. It would be great if you could at least check on the map (i.e. "oh you want o build a new ceramics workshop? Sure! Here on the map are all your ceramic workshops in case you are looking for one in particular!") - Tech tree does not tell you if you finished learning a new tech. You just need to check all the time. - No day/night cycle or weather. - population does not age, which may or may not be a good thing. some people might like it more realistic.

I see the negative reviews here and the positive reviews here. Neither side is wrong per say. The game has a great foundation but in it's current state it's not something exceptional either. I give it a thumbs up because it does what it sets out to do. It's not a bad little game, it just needs some time and some more work done on it. It's your classic city builder simulation in a style similar to Banished. But Unlike in Banished here you have a tech tree and a military branch with troops you can build and use to defend your base. So it's a lot like most city builders but it does try to change things up a little bit and give you more variety. Plus some of it's management mechanics are kinda interesting thus letting you build your city more or less in a way you'd like in a casual comfortable environment. As I said earlier, it does have it's issues. Taxes are an issue, population is an issue, speed is an issue and there's little to no micromanagement of your civilization. It just needs some more work is all imo. If you'd like a more in-depth look at the game please check out the video on my YouTube Channel (link below). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kX86DiyE_4 Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.
