Buccaneers has simple yet satisfying naval combat gameplay similar to Assassin's Creed: Black Flag & recently Skull & Bones, it has a small variety of ships from small to large that you can earn & upgrade as you complete the short story and bounties across the seas. It doesn't have much depth but its enough to enjoy the naval combat and pirate fantasy. Outside of Naval combat it features on foot first person gameplay that can feel clunky at times specifically melee combat during takeovers or boarding. It has bugs related to land mass and ships sailing through them which can be annoying when they take their time to exit it and therefor I don't suggest getting the game at full price. I would recommend Buccaneers when on Sale to anyone who wants another pirate adventure with naval & on foot combat without playing Black Flag again or don't wish to pick up Skull & Bones.

Other than the graphics, this game is what Naval Action by Game Labs could have been and should have been and can still be. My only really complaint about this game is the 1980's style arcade graphics. But despite that it is still a very enjoyable game. Most definitely recommend.

It's like a really low poly and first person version of Sid Meir's Pirates and I love it. It's kind of a quick grind though, and there's nothing else to really do once you beat the game. You just keep sailing around and attacking bounties. Probably won't keep playing until more is added or modding becomes an actually easy thing to do.

The best single player pirate game on the market right now other than Black Flag. It's the definition of "fun is better than great graphics." I hope that the developers continue to build upon this game. There's a lot of depth to the game play loop and battles become intense! Message to Developers: You are sitting on a gold mine with this one. Rework it and launch a new version in the future that will go viral in the gaming community. It has so much potential.

This game is like the better version of Naval Action if you don't like grinding much and just want more simple but fun combat. I really enjoyed playing the demo so i bought the full game i finished it after 9 hours. The story was fun but didnt have too much depth i feel and once the story was done i found myself with a fleet of OP ships but not really much to do beside hunting treasure fleets and such. I guess what im trying to say is: I really like this game but i wish there were more missions once you were done with the main story or that for example once you have colonized everywhere that you would have missions like defend against enemy sieges and such. Hope this review was helpful!
