The original Broken Sword was a classic point and click adventure, and this sequel is just as good in its own way. Expect the usual adventure game cliches - much globetrotting, much talking to characters to pick up clues and lots of picking up and using random stuff to solve puzzles. If old school adventures aren't your thing, then Broken Sword 2 probably isn't for you. On the other hand, if you enjoy that genre, then you'll love this. A great plot, fun and silly characters, gorgeous graphics and sound and decent puzzles. Most of the puzzles are logical and just require some lateral thinking or thinking about what some of the characters have told you - there were only a couple where I had to resort to a walkthrough. A great adventure and a worthy follow up to the original Broken Sword.

Reviewed on Steam Deck This game plays perfectly on Steam Deck and gives solid battery performance as would be expected from a point and click adventure. Unfortunately the game isn’t as accomplished as its predecessor. The story isn’t quite as interesting and the ending feels rather abrupt. On the plus side I prefer the voice actress for Nicole in this one over the original. The art style holds up very well, much better that later point and click classics such as The Longest Journey, especially the character models. It’s a shame Charles felt the need to add character faces to the top of the screen for this version of the game because the artwork doesn’t match up to the awesome original work. There is a nice bonus prequel comic that includes an anachronistic television set as well. If you enjoyed the recently released remake of Broken Sword Reforged I would recommend this follow up. 8/10

Just as with music or cars, some things were better off before! Well today's New game developers need to take a page out of this game's book! How is it even possible that a game made years ago can be this incredible? It's literally EVERYTHING an epic point n click adventure should be! It's got dozens of scenes, even more characters, tons of hotspots, objects and puzzles. The storyline is interesting and the humor is just perfect. The graphics are excellent, dialog perfect and it's a pretty long game. It ran very smoothly and holds up better than any game available these days. There were a couple of far fetched item combinations and some really aggravating puzzles. But even still this game was Absolutely AMAZING!!!

This game never gets old; the design, story, music, voice acting, really stood the test of time; even though the animations look like something from the 90s', the puzzles that require critical thinking are amazing. If you like solving puzzles and non stressful games, this is definitely for you. I find some conversations boring but to be honest, it's still a plus for this game compared to others since it really shows that the developers have put so much sweat and passion into the game. Overall, for a game this old, in 2024, it definitely shines when compared to all the modern garbage casino games and empty brain dead MMOs.
