I think this game is a great 3D platformer game. I really like playing 3D platformer recently, and I enjoy playing this too. They have different skins for Boti, and some secret missions. And since this game is on sale, you can give this game a chance. I bet you'll like it if you also like playing 3D platformer games

Boti: Byteland Overclocked is just typical platformer If you played new Kao the Kangaroo game you’d know what I meant. The game’s good, not masterpiece but still gives a lot of good time. Well it’s not that common for this genre to be story driven. So that ā€œinspired by the pastā€ from description can be taken by more literal mean. I liked the story. That’s why I took extra time to find all Kornel’s logs which made my game…. … To last longer than it would normally. Let’s say I finished every level in around an hour. Seems long, right? Well it’s not since the whole game has only 8 of them (not counting DLC). That’s insanely low amount. If you rush till end, not worrying about collectables or anything it is possible to finish levels in 15-25 mins. (I checked that while going for Cat on head achievement.) The greatest star of the game is setting. You play as Bot inside computer. Even though you’re just a currier bot, you are tasked to save whole system (which we helped a bit with breaking it) . Boti of course is silent, classic but infobots that are with us all the time makes up for it. Zero and One are total opposites (even though voiced by the same actor) and listening to them is quite fun. Too bad some text come up too often, just like arrow in the knee in that well know game. As for how it plays. Well… for starters I’m insane and played it on something that didn’t even reach minimal requirements (I was off just a little bit though) so I DID see some glitches (that wasn’t enemies in the game). Like in level 7 the fans didn’t work for me. I had to sacrifice myself jumping as close next checkpoint as possible. Those are mostly logically put. Only in two or three places I’d put them in different place. Variety in levels is good too, even though they are long they don’t feel like you’re running on one and the same place. Though I must say, slider part gets me bit confusing. Sometimes it needs to be done in one go and sometimes it just keep pressed notes in next slide. Fun addition though that may be a glitch. Boti himself has standard amount of moves but those are more than enough… For most part. The last boss is just overkill. All the bosses up to level 7 are quite simple to figure out and beat but not the last one. The time just runs too fast and you never have enough data to fill all the bars. All in all I liked it. It was fun and mostly relaxing. Though I feel like it’s not the game that’ll stay in my memory for long. Grab it if you see it on big sale.

[Windows PC] What an overwhelmingly charming experience! Boti is the debut game from indie Polish studio Purple Ray Studio, and I truly hope it won't be their last. For a debut game, it shows exceptional promise since it already feels quite fleshed out with lots of creative 3D platforming ideas. Controls feel tight and responsive - except for the car/boat sections, as this is a 3D platformer so it is required by law that vehicle controls be so abhorrent that they make me want to grind my balls on a cheese grater. Graphics are, frankly, stunning. Apparently this runs on Unreal Engine 5, which is already notable for how...well...*unreal* it can make games look. If this is what a low-budget indie team can do with it, I am excited for the future. But beyond technical fidelity and lighting effects and the like, Purple Ray wisely crafted a unique cartoonish artstyle that is quite inviting and memorable. Voice acting is generally quality, though the writing can be hit and miss. I appreciate a platformer attempting to tell a more complex story than "rescue the princess from the aligator," but it needs to tell it well. The story is not complicated and yet I found myself forgetting what was going on every few cutscenes because some things were simply breezed over and not explained well. Music ranges from okay to godly. Some of the tracks go so hard that I could easily see myself coming back regularly to listen to them. Great work there! Now, most of the negative reviews I see for this game point out performance issues and bugs. While I didn't personally encounter performance issues on a high-end PC, I did encounter numerous small bugs that were annoying but not life-ruining. Even the single crash I experienced was not so bad because the game is generous with checkpoints and loads quite quickly. Still, it would be nice to see Purple Ray address these issues. I hope Purple Ray Studio continues on and further create in the 3D platformer genre - it is a favorite of mine and it's nice to see it being kept alive by passionate developers. I am somewhat concerned that this game may have been a flop, however, due to a dearth of user reviews and playtime submissions on HowLongToBeat. Hopefully either I'm wrong or Purple Ray can weather the storm. I'd love to be there for whatever they do next!
