Very fun and Unique. Great movement mechanics, fast paced combat, nice abilities. Imagine mirrors edge, without EA, but better and you can fight back, boomerang doubles as a grappling hook, so you can basically fly around the arenas. Different modes, great game for Speedrunning, Iā€™m actually going to try running this game. I got the game on a discount, not worth full price tbh. Get it on sale.

Recommend at 5$ or less ----------------------------- This is a fun little romp through stylized caves, ruins, and sanctuaries. Combat is engaging and fast paced. Starts basic and ramps up quickly. There isnt really a story to comment on but there is an npc who is a vibe. Overall feels more like a demo than a full game, but I enjoyed it for an afternoon which is all I can expect for 5$.

Beautifully designed arenas and tight refreshing gameplay systems that can somewhat feel underutilised due to lack of enemy variety yet serves nicely for the excitement to future titles and their potential. All of it made bittersweet by the news of the studio's closure.

i beat the game in around a hour and half. it's a shame because i ADORED every second of it. it's so good. i was honestly shocked that it ended where it ended. the final cutscene transports us into a desert dimension. im like "oh cool! we're going to have to fight through a desert world next!" and that the npcs in the distance would fill the same role as the centipede did in the first world. I felt excitement at the thought of the game moving us through dimensions to fight different enemies and bosses. but nope, credits roll. games finished. what? :( going off the final cutscene, it truly felt like the devs had a grander idea for this game but were forced to cut it REALLY short it's extremely saddening considering the squandered potential because if this game had multiple worlds following the same format as the first (fighting in arenas, talking to npcs between arenas, fighting final boss, moving to new, differently themed world) this would've easily landed a spot as one of my all time favourite movement shooters; unfortunately it ends abruptly after around a hour of gameplay The proof of concept was present and the combat loop is so well made that it wouldn't even get old by the 3rd, 4th world, even without new abilities. boomerang x has flawless combat and an incredibly responsive movement system. it's such a missed opportunity to only use this foundation for a hour of game and never again. wished we could've seen a sequel, but sadly due to the studio's recent closure i think this won't be happening. the art is beautiful. the npc writing was fun. the combat is immaculate. music was wonderful. i would recommend this if you like movement shooters but be aware of how short this game is. anyways, i plan on replaying this game a few times! it's an amazing yet bit-sized experience
