Badly programmed AI warbots have, despite being fundamentally idiots, nearly wiped out humanity. Tweak, upgrade, tinker, and futz with your robot buddies and take the fight to the bad 'bots in classic turn-based, simultaneous movement maps in this roguelike upgrade-em-up. A little clunky (why four robots that you can swap between freely instead of one do-it-all bot?), but lots of fun!
After many years, I keep coming back to this game. Well designed mechanisms. Now I finished my ironman expert run with random Exos, I ended up with a worksheet that calculates the total damage of overload before an enemy can come around the corner . I like the options to self-impose handicaps to customize my challenge while keeping the fun part. On high difficulty random expo, no single strategy wins you the game. You have to improvise and have a backup plan when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan.
