Simply one of the most elegantly designed games I've ever played! It's an automation game similar to Factorio, but much more puzzle-oriented and space-constrained. You will tinker and adjust your layout to get the perfect efficiency, while exploring and experimenting with ways to dial in the most profitable product. Because the resources and their effects are randomized each game, the puzzles you're figuring out are always slightly different. I keep coming back to this one time and again - highly recommended!

Solid management game with factory building. The factory building part is a lot more intricate than I first thought. As you play, you slowly realize that you don't need to make the best drug with the least side-effects to make the most profits. Balancing profits and drug quality is an integral part of the game while taking into account the drugs being offered by competitors. Pricing strategy, marketing, and other components are not as critical as they may seem at first, but it is important to price your drugs right by fiddling around with the prices a bit. Highly recommend if you like factory building games. If you're looking for a pure management type game then skip this one. 9/10

Honestly a slept on simplistic factory builder / resouce management game. I love that you can complete a challenge in a 6 hour sitting, unlike other games like Factorio which you can't pickup and put down on/off. I love being able to play the game once every 6 months and have a great time. While it does get boring past 6-10 hours, it is quite replayable after a break. I've owned the game since 2016 but played consistently one day every few months and always have fun. Its just good, pure, clean fun. If you like factory builders, this is your simplistic "I haven't played much this month but I got a day off today" game of choice.

Despite the serious tone and lack of silly hijinks, it's a surprisingly fun and interesting game. It reminds me of the tycoon and management games of my childhood, and any fan of those kinds of games should give this a try. Just like the developer's other game Megaquarium, there is a well thought-out tutorial here that leads you through learning the game. It's surprisingly not as complicated as it first seems, and in fact, all about using the same tools in clever ways to pursue greater efficiency and bigger, better cures. Where Megaquarium was a little simpler and more casual, maybe boring at times, Big Pharma is much more of a constant puzzle, and a game where your highest ambitions for complex combinations is only limited by your available floor space. I don't personally see much appeal to free play in this game, but I'm not a sandbox game person anyway. Instead, I'm keeping busy with the many, many challenges (think scenarios) present here. The maps and the ingredients and their details are randomized with each new game start, so you could go back and replay the same challenges for better results, with the freshness of a totally different experience. It's a very unique and cleverly-made game. I haven't encountered a single bug or mistake. Overall, the developer (Twice Circled) seems to have a great knack for management games. It feels so thoroughly planned out and executed. I look forward to completing it fully someday, and I hope the developer brings his talent to many more games in the future.
