Bro, I LOVE this game. Spent 11 hours blasting through it, and it's an absolute banger. The gameplay? Chef's kiss. The visuals? Pure eye candy. Honestly, couldn’t get enough. BUT EA, WHY?! Why do I have to open a browser just to log in and play? Like, I just wanna hit Play on Steam and vibe, not jump through hoops like I’m in some weird login simulator. WHY, EA?! It’s 2024, we don’t need this. Just give us a button that works. Simple. Done. Battlefield 3 Achievement Support Has Been Discontinued. As of recent updates, Battlefield 3 no longer supports achievements on its platform via steam. Anyway, good game, but fix your launcher nonsense. Seriously. 7.5/10 (would be a 10 if I didn’t have to wrestle with your login system).

As someone who has owned and played every Battlefield since the original 1942 plus all the expansions.. this is by far THE BEST Battlefield game. Its taken a long time to come over to steam and i have sunk Hundreds of hours via Origin and Xbox live over the years. Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 are where the series peaked in my eyes. Both 2042 and BFV are awful.

Bought this only for Venice Unleashed so I can play against bots. Despite its dead multiplayer mode, it's hard not to recommend this game. I'd advise buying it on sale and don't forget to install Venice Unleashed which is sort of Battlefield 3's community launcher that allows you to host or play on custom servers, and MODS! Gotta recommend fun-bots as well(which is a VU mod) so you can add and play against bots(and that's my sole reason to buy this game tbh). Gameplay-wise, I like how destructive and chaotic this game is. Whether you're playing on singleplayer campaign or the multiplayer mode, you can feel the intensity and gritty atmosphere of the battlefield -- the shouts of your teammates and enemies alike, the explosions, the crumbling buildings, and many other things. There are tons of weapons, attachments, and camos at disposal, ready to spice up your experience in this game. As we know, Battlefield's strength lies in its multiplayer, so even though Battlefield 3 has a decent campaign, it's obviously not on the same level as CoD's campaigns. It clearly shows how the developers tried to copy the battle-tested formula of CoD's storytelling and level design and slapped it into Frostbite. It had potentials, but I don't think they worked on it to its max. The story is quite good, though. It has quite a plot twist, and I won't tell the spoiler here ;) As someone who played Battlefield 2, the pace feels much faster here, which used to be a turn-off for me as I prefer the more balanced pace of Battlefield 2. However, after spending hours in the multiplayer mode, even though I play only against bots, I came to appreciate it and understand why it's regarded as the best game in the series. It's just a lot of pure fun and chaos, and so many kits to play with. I live in Southeastern Asia, so servers are scarce here. The pings are too high and no players found in them. That's why the only feasible way to enjoy this game to the maximum is playing with bots. I believe this is the closest experience we get from its prime past. Thank you for reading this far, Kurdgeon

Here is your fix for having the Origin error - "Could not Activate" https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Battlefield_3#Origin_error_-_.22Could_not_activate.22 Afterwards if you have issues with Punkbuster, just download the newest one from the net, go open it after installation and add in BF3 to it's list. The game is still amazing to play, wish it was easier for many people to access it without going through bunch of fixes.
