The original Dark Alliance is one of my all time favorite games mainly because I have so many good memories playing it when I was young. I never got around to playing much of this one (II) because only my friend owned it. I decided to try it out. It's basically a more polished version of the 1st game with additional textures and more interesting creatures. Otherwise, it feels the exact same. Compared to today's game (even similar ones like Gauntlet or Children of Morta) it's quite simple and the combat is super repetitive. I would recommend it to people who don't like super complex games or maybe if you want something pretty easy to play while also watching YT videos or something. It's also one of the few local co-op games on PC. Otherwise I think younger players will get bored easily, especially since we have things like Baldur's Gate 3 out now. My main complaint is probably the price. The original game was like $20 on PS2 and I realize that ports take effort and inflation exists but $30 still seems a bit steep IMO.

This game is just about nostalgia, i was playing it every week-ends on Play Station 2, days and nights long with my friend when we were young. What a great surprise to see it coming on computer, i finished it again, alone and with my girlfriend and that was great fun. My only regret to be honest is that 20 years later, it is not a remaster, an enhanced or whatever improved version you would call, it is just... a port... At a 30 euros price tag, to me it feels like a deception, and only fans of the first hours looking for nostalgia might find it worth it. It would have been greatly appreciated to see a full remaster or even a remake of this masterpiece, but i could not complain, i was happy to venture once again through this awesome title !

Love the Dark Alliance series and wanted to leave a review on this adding to the echoes of people who want Champions of Norrath and Champions: Return To Arms on steam! My favorite games for years when i was a child. That aside though i really love these games, i miss the times when we had arpgs similar to this but there seems to be a bit of a resurgence on the way. Slow, fun, addicting, "brain off" goodness. Also, a lot of people are running into an error where the game will crash to desktop in a specific section of the game, to get around this, In-game, simultaneously hold LB + RB + X + Y + B + A, then press Start to open up the in game cheat menu and teleport to Omduil's Manor to avoid it. (this does not disable achievements as i had to use it in my multiplayer playthrough and when we finished the game we still got the achievements).
