Does a good job at adapting the board game into an online experience. My main criticism would be how jumbled the screen gets when moving troops. You may accidentally forget your land troops when trying to invade America and entirely lose the battle. There's certainly some visual elements that need tweaking to make the experience better.

Over 1000 hours into this should tell you something. Great game. Only thing i wish it had, would be better AI. They use pretty much the same strategy each game. I understand the game is meant for online play and the solo is more for learning the game, but some of us don't like people. HAHA Like i said, this is the best A&A game out there on PC

One of my favorite games of all time. Classic WW2 strategy board game. Dice can be your friend or worst enemy. Can play vs D- AI, or online ranked ladder games with Erwin Rommel the GD Platinum Desert Fox himself. Can do custom games with online friends. Also pass n play local hot-seat games at your place where you can be annihilated by your overly smart brother. The only downside is if things are going poorly you cant rage-flip the board into the air like a child; can only forfeit.

Very fun game, bring back nostalgia and helps remove the required setup time. My only pet peeve with it is the lack of workshop support or modding tools to further expand the pool of scenarios to play on such as WW1, 1940, 1941 and so on. When workshop support gets added (if ever), i believe it will be worth the price tag but as of now, picking it up on sale is a perfectly fine purchase, and if you really enjoy, 20 dollars is very much worth it.

I've played this game for over 2,500 hours and can say that it may be the most cost-effective online game. For $8.99 you get a no subscription licensed asynchronous turn-based game that has a robust player base. The game is balanced using tournament rules (Gencon 3.0) and you have a choice of competing for rank on the ladder, or playing custom games in Discord tournaments, or playing custom games with your friends. There is a community of players with some going back decades to the days of the board game in the 80's. But with this online version, games can be played more often and more rapidly, which has resulted in innovation in strategy. Elite players are well known and are generous with their knowledge in helping lower ranked players. The game intentionally omits online chat to avoid toxicity so there is no need to feel apprehensive entering games. But you can make friends with players after a match and you can chat with your friends using Discord or Steam. The game is not exactly like the board game in that you can't land fighters on allied carriers and you can't load allied land units onto transports. But this is a good thing because the Allies would be overpowered with these rules. Generally, the Axis dominates in the lower ranks, but in the highest ranks the Allies are favored to the point where players bid for Allies in Discord tournaments. The matchmaker pairs you with other players at your skill level, so average players like me are at the level where the two factions are evenly matched. There has been criticism of the dice, but the developers have proven that the RNG is fair. It's human nature to only remember the bad dice rolls, and to assume that good dice results were because of strategic decision making. Anyone with experience shooting craps know that there are hot and cold streaks when rolling dice. If you enjoy games like chess or risk and you have some interest in WWII history, then this is the game for you. You can test your strategy against the best Axis & Allies players in the world online. This game was developed as a passion project, so there are no money-making schemes in this game. You pay your one-time fee for each device (computer, tablet or phone), and you get unlimited play time.
