Have you ever rubbed your eyes very hard and tried to look around? Feels like you are using someone elses glasses. Awareness Rooms is a cute puzzle style game that prompts you too build your understanding of what surrounds you with consistant observation. The design of the game is very neat, as it manages the pixels to create the feeling of blurriness. This idea of being curious is natural when it comes to games in this rpg maker style, wanting to interact with every object possible to see what interesting text will show, so making it part of the level progression is fun. The Sound design is comfortable and relaxing, nothing too notable. The level design can get quite challanging at times. Should be mostly intuitive and doable for most players. In general, it is a fun game which is worth the short time you will spend on it: 7/10

Small, cute puzzle game. Investigate your surroundings to learn more about them. A few of the puzzles were a bit tricky, but overall it was pretty fun.

A really creative game with some challenging puzzles that really feels rewarding to solve! Also love that the player has to think for themselves what the story could possibly be about, just like the gameplay it's a mystery for the curious player! My only problem with this game is that it was too short so I'd love a sequel with more of the same psychological trickiness this game shows so much potential for!

The puzzles escalate in difficulty as you progress through the game, with the rooms also increasing in size which leads to more puzzles in later rooms. 🖋️Finer Details🖋️ The art style is simple but charming, with the character standing out in the room of blurred objects and as you become more aware, the objects gain colour and shape which gives the objects identity again where you can tell what they are. The art-style is probably my favourite part of the game. The audio is minimal, with small sound effects when interacting with objects or becoming more aware to your surroundings which add to the overall experience of the game. The puzzle content has some puzzles which may give you a hiccup, although at least in my playthrough were quickly solved. There is some backtracking as well, which links previous levels together. The overall game length will take you around 1 hour maximum, given you get stuck on some puzzles. If you don't the playtime may be even less. As for achievements, 100% will be achieved upon completing the game. 🐜Issues/Bugs🐜 The main issue which I had when playing was the lack of saving, where you would only get a save when entering a new room, meaning that any progress in between would be lost. This was very frustrating when having to reboot as all objects would need to be interacted and examined again only to get back to where I was. The gimmick of this game becomes stale quick, with it being intuitive and fun at the beginning although tedious in levels such as the last which have several rooms all with different objects, almost becoming a content sponge/time waste rather than a fun part of the gameplay loop. 🥁Closing Statement🥁 Awareness Rooms is a great bite-sized puzzle game which has a great atmosphere and art-style which add to the overall experience. I do think that the game is slightly expensive given what it provides although I can definitely recommend purchasing the game when its on sale.
