I can't wait for the second chapter of "Asleep"! Pros: - Intriguing story that leaves me interested in filling in the blanks - Fun mechanics that had their challenges to solve - Good puzzles, good clues - Beautiful artwork and point-n-click graphics - Spooky moments Pro / Con (depending on who you are) - Not too spooky that you're freaking out and jam buttons, or find the challenge impossible Cons: - There isn't much of a challenge when it comes to health / resource management, buuuut I'm also a bit ok with that; maybe there will be levels later on, but it also allows you to enjoy the atmosphere /story, and not worry too much I honestly don't have big gripes; this was a fun, attention-catching game that leaves me eager for the next chapter! A solid A+, spoopy, heartfelt point-n-click. <3 Highly recommend!

POSITIVE POINTS: - The game has a really beautiful pixel art style. - It is set in Northeast Brazil in the 90s, giving it a unique touch. - The price is really low, for the experience offered and its duration (about 4-5 hours!). - The dubbing is in Brazilian (this may come as a shock to some, but take it from me: you'll get used to it and end up enjoying it), and it's outstanding. - The story is interesting and captivating... NEGATIVE POINTS: - ...although at times it can be confusing. - It takes a while to get used to the control if you are not used to it. - Moving from one dialogue to another has a certain delay, which is annoying. CONCLUSIONS: "Asleep - Ato 1 is a video game that manages to capture the essence of classic psychological horror adventure games in an outstanding way, with a truly intriguing story and a unique setting. The point-and-click control may put some people off, but if you love psychological horror games you should at least try it for a while, because once you get used to it you'll be hooked. EVALUATION: 8,5/10. If you like horror games and pixel art, don't hesitate: buy this game, you won't regret it: I can't wait to play the second chapter! It's great to see a horror game set in Brazil and a group of devs invested in fixing and improving their work, yet I still need to mention some caveats before recommending it. Asleep doesn’t feel like an exploration game, despite having elements of the genre. I was excited by the size of the city and the many houses to explore, until I realized it’s only possible to get into two of them. Supplies in this game are also practically unnecessary. I didn't use any during my replay and didn’t die once. Since you can restore sanity by staying in the light, you don’t need sanity pills, and health meds are only useful in certain parts. Some bugs (and minor annoyances) have already been fixed since I first played the game, yet some persist: - On my end, the menu selection endlessly switches between language options, and inspected items spin so fast I can’t even take a good look at them. It seems like this only happens to me, though. - When I try to use an item to no avail, the character walks to the closest interaction (a door, switch, anything) and interacts with it instead. - Interacting with some items prompts an unskippable dialogue from Ana Lúcia, who doesn’t speak very fast, and you have to wait for her to finish speaking every single time you click on it. - If you solve some puzzles then die, the puzzles will already be solved even after loading an old save. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like this or if there’s a problem with the save system. Nonetheless, the game boasts great voice acting and wonderful pixel art combined with charming 3D models. The school environment is impressive and well developed, and the sound design makes it all more immersive. The light mechanic is what I liked the most about the game, with each monster interacting differently with it. I hope this review can be helpful, and I wish the game and developers much success.

Super fun! Love the pixel art aesthetics... but I do think I need new underwear :)) I think some people don't realize that this is an EPISODIC game... this is just Act 1, which amounts to about 3hs of gameplay. Still well worth it!
