as other comments said. yes, kinda similar to Darkest Dungeon but in light mode and not as punishing. not even one death during my gameplay. grinding not too necessary but is OK if you aim perfection.

Seriously loving it. I can see why people used darkest dungeon for similarity. However, while challenging I think Aria Chronicle is easier. The characters talk just a bit too much when moving from scene to scene but whatever, the foreign voice acting is good feels like I'm watching an anime, haha. The music gets stuck in my head although I don't think it's particularly anything special. It did crash on me once so far. It's a lot of fun. Challenging.

Plays like Darkest Dungeon except with more JRPG flair and (mostly) less frustration. Story and characters are largely forgettable, and the game can be a little repetitive if you play in longer sessions. The game also includes a roguelike mode which is surprisingly fun. I enjoyed most of my time with this game, however it can't be ignored that the end-game is a pretty terrible slog. At a certain point gaining experience through dungeons and quests are not viable to raise characters; instead you must sacrifice fodder characters into others for real gains. The process is incredibly tedious for one character, let alone a full party.

Darkest Dungeon, but less about Lovecraftian horror and shitty ancestor, more about the brave little princess and her band of heroes. It's good, it's cute. It's almost too good. There's something...missing I guess. I played it a lot but returned to Darkest Dungeon in the end. There's something just...rage inducing about that game that makes you just want to go on out of pure spite. You'll find nothing alike here. So you may not be incentivised to grind as much. But then again, not many can replicate that feeling and otherwise this one is a very lovely game. Hard recommend.

I think it is unfair that this game is almost unknown everywhere, even though it is very good. Some people say that this game is easier than, for example, Darkest Dungeon, but I don't know... I'm playing at "Successor" difficulty, and I can assure you, DD is a joke comparing to this (but quite tedious because of all the leveling and town upgrades). It really makes this game hard (not tedious). But nonetheless it is still very enjoyable and cool. By "not tedious" I mean that here you can hire characters up to level 8 (depending on what is the level of Aria), you can also save characters which will be equal to the level of mission where you found them, and you can share experience of unneeded characters with other ones instead of just removing them. As for gold, at first it can seem that it's not a lot of it, but eventually you won't have this kind of problem at all, and as for resources or potions it is the same (you even will sell them because you don't need them in such amounts). So, this game isn't grindy, but it is hard - some bosses will be unexpectedly hard if you don't know what to expect, while in DD all bosses were very easy (although I watched videos of "Aria" in "Hard", and it also was a joke comparing to "Successor", bosses are like two times weaker in numbers). Stress system here is a bit different, so if you don't run out of stamina and don't allow your characters fall into coma, you are fine, game won't throw at you constant diseases out of nowhere, and enemies won't raise your stress either. TL;DR, I would suggest this game to anyone who likes this genre.
