Pretty short but enjoyable. You should definitely give it a try if you like Terraria and top down view type of games. It has a basic story yet it keeps you engaged all the way through making you think about it as you play. The soundtrack is nice and gives off a calm vibe most of the time. You can also choose how you want to play and how you want to progress which makes the game feel flexible and non-restrictive.

Accidentally watched one devlog on youtube and after that followed all of them, and bought the game as soon as it came out. The game feels very good, everything is so smooth, numerous cool little details. The economy and progression also feels right. Still, the game provides quite a challenge via versatile enemies and challenges. I could'nt pass the final boss) But I don't consider myself as a tryhard. So, definitely recommend this game, developers really put soul into it!

Archvale combines twin-stick shooter gameplay with map exploration + RPG stat upgrades from exploration and equipment crafting. It's pretty okay, and the way the equipment works means that you're never really forced to grind or locked into a specific build, which is pretty good. Unfortunately, the difficulty is not great! On Normal you can tank through most things by pumping your defense, to the point where taking tons of hits in a row barely slows you down most of the time, while on Hard everything kills you in like two or three hits, and the game is not really balanced around perfectly dodging everything. Still a pretty good game, and one I'll recommend, but I preferred Minishoot' Adventures, a game along similar but different lines, and would recommend that one higher.

Archvale is a top-down Bullet Hell game in a beautiful pixel-style graphics. In this game you have to explore a procedurally-generated world and rooms to find items, materials, badges, upgrades and what not to help you in your quest of finding the seven arch pieces in order to face the final boss. I loved the freedom of exploring whichever sides you wanted first, the thrill of doing a zone way too hard for your character in hope of getting something good, vs playing it safe but proceeding a little slower and incrementally in strength instead. You can even create your own build with a mix of gear, badges and weapons, choosing your own playstyle. I would say one of the weakness of the game is the story, but it isn't too bad either, just not enough plot development to my tastes. However, this isn't the main point of the game, so it doesn't really matter. The graphics and animated are super well made, the music is totally awesome and the mechanics are on point. Most of the dialogues are worth reading and are funny, especially the town NPCs and the guard of the arena. The difficulty on normal is just right, having looked up videos on easy and hardcore, this is the best mode to play I believe. Easy if you have no experience with Bullet Hell games/are more casual, normal for a challenge, hard for a punishing challenge. As far as the balance goes, the last weapons do way too much damage in my opinion and makes the last 2-3 bosses almost trivial. Another brief rant, THE TRIALS and the DASHING ROOMS in dungeons. Some of them are just so unfair and really took the fun out of the game for me at times. The trials were harder than the dashing rooms for me, even if some of them were absurd especially in Brinkreef. Overall, I could go on for hours about how awesome this game is but I would just suggest you to just play it instead. The price point of $15 is OK if you plan to do more than one playthrough or want to play with friends, otherwise you might want to wait for a sale. The game does last a solid 10 hours on a single playthrough, so honestly for how good the game is, I'd still say it's worth it!
