After completing this game 100% Summary: Aragami 2 is a great game for anyone who enjoys modern stealth titles. Feeling like an unstoppable shadow assassin didn't get old in the first game and it doesn't get old in this one either. While a lot pressured this game to live up to the great experience that it's predecessor gave, I feel like looking at each as separate games in the same universe rather than a direct sequel will let you see that this game does a lot well in it's own right. Echoing the same as I did in my review of Aragami 1, I'm sad that this studio was shut down and I have nothing but respect for the devs and wish them the best :) Overall rating: 4/5 ✅ I liked... [*] The upgraded mobility. Movement feels a lot smoother in this game, it's a massive leap forward from how the first played out and after putting on a few stamina buffs it feels like such a rush just zipping through the map. If you preferred the slower approach that Aragami 1 had you may want to stick to Classic Mode (more on that later). [*] The improved graphics. I really enjoyed the charm from the first game's minimal art style, however the updated graphics in this sequel help to make it feel more on-par with modern games and more fitting for the faster pace it takes. [*] The skills. Some new ones were added and some old ones were removed, I personally preferred the skills in Aragami 2 as they can allow for some really satisfying plays. Wraith is OP + I'll never get tired of Warp Strike  [*] The Classic Mode. If you scroll through older reviews, you will see a lot of negative ones saying this is not a "good Aragami game" or a failed sequel. Aragami 2 is a lot more forgiving than the first, focusing less on "stick to the shadows or die" and instead tries to give a more rounded experience that can accommodate more playstyles. Unfortunately, many were disappointed with this as they were hoping to see more built from what made Aragami 1 so unique. This led to what felt like review-bombing upon release, which Lince Works quickly took notice of and tried to mend. 6 months after initial release, Classic Mode was introduced which brought back a lot of the beloved mechanics/playstyle from Aragami 1. I personally didn't mind how Aragami 2 played as you can see from my previous points, but I appreciate that they decided to take action rather than sit back and ignore like most developers nowadays would do. [*] The customisation. Just like the first game, the customisation is chefs kiss . Loads of different gears to try out, each with an insane amount of colour options to choose from. [*] The co-op experience. Exactly the same point I had for my review on Aragami 1, if you are able to play this game with others I highly recommend it. ❌ I didn't like... [*] How recycled the maps were. First off, I think the level design in this game is awesome. Like the first game, Aragami 2 only has a few maps but that doesn't take away from the fact they are all interesting and fun to explore. My issue is that there are over 50 missions so you end up visiting the same places a lot. They do try to spice it up by making you start from different angles/sections but after a while it can definitely feel repetitive or like filler content. [*] The runes + consumables. They all felt kind of lacklustre to me, I just went for whatever helped my stamina the most didn't look for the rest of the game. I only used the consumables for achievements. [*] That the Classic Mode came out post-launch. Don't get me wrong I really admire the prompt response from the team to bring this out, it shows that they really care about their player base and to release something like this only 6 months after release is nothing short of impressive. But since the levels were designed around the regular Aragami 2 mechanics it just doesn't seem to click as well as it did with the first. The effort and care was there but unfortunately there is only so much you can do.

Really fun game, solo or multi, even with the bugs accounted in for. It's really sad the studio shut down, the missions really open up and become super interesting toward the end, I would have insta-buy a DLC or a 3rd game

This game is a fun time if you have that stealth itch. I finished the game in 25ish hours, grabbing all of the collectibles, but not crafting everything nor leveling to cap. Despite this, this game has told a pretty cool story, with some pretty cool (if sometimes a little buggy) mechanics. Haven't played the Co-Op yet, but it is there if you would buy this with friends.

Finished the game on classic mode with my wife. Extraordinarily fun which is what counts. A very nice break from Sekiro. Similar combat but nowhere near as difficult. The game is challenging enough but not Sekiro hard. If you really enjoy being challenged (frustrated) and playing the same level on Mario 1000 times, this isn't the game for you. Story is pretty lack luster but you can skip all cut scenes and click through most conversations. You don't need to know what's going on in the story to enjoy the combat and stealth aspects of the game. The combat animations and npc deaths are very satisfying. Other reviews complain about glitches. They weren't a big deal. The game fixes most shadow leap glitches on its own. Other reviews also complain about the lack of new maps. It would have been nice if there were more maps, however returning to the same maps with different objectives and at different locations gives enough variety when playing with a friend. Also returning to the map gives you a chance to look around for collectables that you might not have found the first time. Overall really enjoyed the content in this game and would recommend to friends / couples. Also, we didn't like how they added Sekiro / Arkham style combat to this game. When you play in classic mode, if you get discovered it's basically sudden death. We found this a lot more challenging and more interesting way to play so we stuck with the classic mode for the entire game. Hope this helped you with your decision. Cheers,

My feelings regarding this game are a little complicated. I beat the first game just a night before starting this one and really enjoyed it, the stealth gameplay of it and absolutely having to be sneaky really appealed to me, and as did the art and setting. This game is not that game, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just different. This game is closer in style to Assassin's Creed or Shadow of Mordor than Aragami or Tenchu. It is super fun, Aragami is tense and methodical, this game is fast and punchy. Where it does stumble and fail however is the repetition, there are 51 missions in the game, and only a small handful of maps. Worst of all many of those missions are the definition of filler and should have been optional, but missions that boil down to (find 6 sacks of food) are somehow a main quest, and are the majority of them. Listen, if you want fun stealth gameplay that awards being sneaky, a fast and great parkour/traversal system, great artstyle, and a lot of content and can handle some repetition this is a worthy investment as there is a lot of content, but towards the end of this game it did feel like a chore for me. In the end I would recommend it, but with those important caveats above.
