Another decent short horror game from my favourite Publisher Emika_Games, I like these short games because its nice to be able to load a game up that you can play from start to finish during a lunch break. The game is not made by Emika_Games but it still plays like any other Emika_Games title, I had zero issues from start to finish with no issues at all. I know some might think the £4.29 price tag is a bit high but IMHO its worth it and in 2024 is about the same price of a decent Coffee or a pint of Beer.

Spooky game with a nice story and disturbing gore. The jumpscares can get stale, but the unsettling atmosphere is spot-on.

Wow! If you're looking for a spoopy walking sim that you can knock out in about an hour, this game is a good choice. As far as originality, you won't find much in the story or the all-too-familiar asset flip house that spoopsters like myself have seen in in numerous games. And that's ok. It's a tough job to try and find a story that's never been done. <3 I enjoyed my brief excursion into the asset flip house and was successfully jump scared at least 3 times. Placement of scary objects and visual cues to keep the game progressing were all really good. It's kind of a relief because I feel like I've played a couple games recently where there was zero indication of where to go or what to do and April 24th does a great job of keeping things flowing. This game is currently a steal at 53% off for the steam summer sale so I recommend grabbing it. But kitten! What if it's full price because I read this review after the sale?!? I'd say get it anyway. I feel like I had $5 of fun. :D Thumbs up me hearties! AAAARRRRR!!

The atmosphere is pretty decent, but the game relies so heavily on jump scares that you begin to expect them rather non stop. To be bluntly honest, I found the experience to be a boring one. I don't think the game's bad though, and I'm sure somebody who gets scared at little things and doesn't require meaningful justification for anything will enjoy this. The story is pretty simple. Guy kills family. Reporter investigates. Spooky things happen. It's not very deep at all. The game is presented to you through very quick sections that almost feel like individual levels haphazardly tossed together without a real sense of tying the narrative together. Graphically the game is fine. It's a house. You've got a VHS filter because it's spooky I guess. I do think some of the NPCs you encounter are well animated and positioned, and the minimal/quick movements does add to a creepy vibe. In any case... The game takes about 40 minutes to complete. While I didn't really walk away from this feeling like I truly enjoyed it, I also didn't walk away thinking I didn't like it. I'm somewhere in the middle.
