There's a lot to enjoy about ATA2. I don't want to get too far into the positives, because so many great moments in the game are spoilers, so I'm limited on what I CAN say. So I'll leave it at this; It's bigger, scarier, funnier, it has more interesting puzzles, and it sets the tone for the series well moving forward. I don't think it's as charming in a vibe setting as the first, but that's just me. I will say, without spoiling, When You're Feeling Bad is my favorite tape/puzzle thus far. I love how it plays out a lot. Now onto the nitpicks. I appreciate the more difficult puzzles in general, but it leads to my first complaint. I think the use of the book scanner, while very neat, should have been held off on for a tape or two, as it can grind the game to a halt before you even move if you don't already get exactly what it wants you to do, and feels needlessly complex just to start the game. Yes, it's completely unnecessary to do once you know the answer it wants from you, but if anything, I feel that's even worse, since the game is based on puzzle solving, and it basically tells you one of the puzzles is meaningless. It's why I think that specific puzzle should have been used later, and maybe had a randomly generated answer so it can still be used, but also have a way to increase replay value. Actually, that may be my main issue with the game in general, as well as the first game; replay value. Once you 100% it, there's really no reason to go back to it ever again, unless you just want to for a speedrun, or the vibes. I think a game like this would benefit from a mode that changes up the puzzles and lets you play through it with a slightly altered experience for each playthrough, or even just add different puzzles and tapes that switch out every now and then. Just my thought personally. Would it go against canon? Sure, but a silly goof off mode for fun never hurts a game like this. That being said, like I said up front, I still feel most of my issues with the game are nitpicks. I enjoyed my time with it, and look forward to seeing what the series has in store for later games, regardless.

Don't listen to the negative stuff, play the game if you liked the first one, it's 9 dollars, and it's really good, lore filled, and headache inducing puzzles, loved it, 10/10, excited for the 3rd one.

For the price that it is and the amount of playtime my wife and I got from solving the puzzles this game is 100% worth it for that alone. The game takes place almost immediately, probably mere minutes, after the first one. The game is continuing to be centered around Riley and her escapades through this terrifying reality of a children's show become Satan incarnate. The game itself is focused around solving riddles and puzzles either tasked by Amanda herself or through toys and other various objects scattered throughout the Library. As far as lore goes, we're unfortunately only two steps ahead from where we were in the last game. At least through the initial play through I'm sure there's something in the game files or something hidden in the menu screen (hint hint), something have to do with ARG elements may soon be discovered and the whatnot. It's more Amanda so if you didn't like the first game you probably aren't going to like this one as it doesn't do anything drastically new compared to the first. The game runs well, the checkpoints for failure are a bit rough, but ultimately my wife and I had fun playing this game and unlocking all of the achievements. TLDR; 7.5/10 A safe sequel to a great first game. Hopefully they can expand more on the lore and give us some satisfying conclusions rather than leaving us on so many cliffhangers. The puzzles are intuitive and just need a careful eye to get the solution. Ultimately, I recommend.

A extremely good game! I only have a few key problems with it: 1. That first puzzle was TERRIBLE, and it was not a very good choice to have that be the introduction to game and it's mechanics. It dragged on for too long and was incredible difficult to figure out what exactly you had to do, while not being like any other puzzle in the game so it has a bit of a whiplash, espessially if you just got done playing/replaying the first game. I hope in the third game (if there is one) that this taken into account 2. Although the wide area is neat, it complicates things compared to the first game. This is because for 90% of puzzles after the first one, any area outside of the kid corner isn't really needed besides a few key moments. This largely makes the other areas feel like a large empty space without much use. 3. During gameplay it is extremely quiet with the ambiance, but will randomly make loud vent/thunder noises? I though at first this was some prompt that something changed like what happens during some of the VHS tapes, but it seems it does it for like no reason? This wouldn't be a problem if the game already didn't use sounds like that to communicate when to pause or when something has happened, so it can confuse people at first I largely **DO** recommend this game to people who loved the original, but there was a somewhat noticable drop in quality overall from the first. That doesn't mean this game is bad by any means, a 10/10 dropping to a 9/10 isn't a bad thing at all, but be aware that it's a but rougher around the edges than the first.
