Same review as in the case of the AB 2. It's mostly the same thing, so it applies: Although, technically speaking it's almost the same as the 1st game, this one—especially towards the end—tends to be more of a frustration-fest than an actual challenge. During the first half, it's okay to save up ammo through 'tactical back-paddling while shooting the pistol'; it adds to the tension and thus it enriches the gameplay, sorta'. But later on, enemies start to pop up from everywhere, figuratively speaking at 'every other step you make'. And that's a problem. It's not like it is too difficult, no, you can get through with a reasonably non-high amount of player's skill, but the thing is you *won't ever* have enough ammo to advanced weapons, and you absolutely have to kill the majority of aliens with your low-damage, non-upgradable, little-to-no-stopping-power, pistol. If you want to save up ammo for the onslaughts, that is. And since it is painfully slow to kill anything but the small isopod-like critters, so is your advancement. A slog fest, really. I didn't finish the first one on Elite, I suppose this might be the difficulty thing. But still, under a well-thought-out difficulty, I'd have imagined enemies doing more damage, you having slightly less ammo, maybe a bit more aliens, too. But not this. Not a long-lost brother to bloated HP trope: enemies in galore that you have to take one by one with a pea-shooter. I recommend it still, because it has a solid atmosphere, and for a large part, the game is a no-brainer, okay fun, with ocassional new gameplay elements refreshing the overal feel. But, man, the last third of the gameplay near the end could've/should've really been handled better.

Alien Breed 3: Descent offers a fitting conclusion to a captivating series. The game masterfully blends narrow corridors, limited ammunition, and hordes of relentless aliens, creating a thrilling and immersive experience. The tight, claustrophobic environments kept me on edge, while the constant threat of alien attacks demanded strategic thinking and precise resource management. The tension and adrenaline were palpable, making each encounter a heart-pounding ordeal. The sense of accomplishment upon finishing the game was unparalleled. The final moments felt like a rebirth, a testament to the game’s gripping narrative and challenging gameplay. While I thoroughly enjoyed this intense adventure, it’s a journey I may not revisit. Alien Breed 3: Descent provided a memorable experience, and I’ll carry the memories of this thrilling escapade with me. This game series is alright, They could have been more generous with the "$" and remove the concept of ammo as it's used, maybe ammo caches spread out through the levels for all weapons instead of individual clips and maybe a bit more enemies to shoot out would have made a big dif. But if you like top down shooters its probably a bit better than average. As it stand this game series does not offer a tense enough game play nor narrative for its ammo system to work for it.

All three of the game's series are a solid isometric/third person twin stick shooter. Although made in 2010, they still feel great to play, the handling are smooth and pretty precise. If you can ignore the bad UI+map background (pretty hard to see the map with background so bright, especially the 3rd of the series), the constant back and forth task, the many explosions and screen shake that make Michael Bay ashamed, outdated graphic, cheesy story/dialogue (which plague old games title), you should really try this game. I goit it for pretty cheap bundled :)

All three of these games are pretty solid. Cool throwback to the good old days of gaming, with simple mechs and uncomplicated by "nuanced" characters and stories - it offers up some pretty basic food for thought. Gameplay is solid albeit repetitive, even down to the amount of damage an alien takes (spoiler, they all die from 1 to 2 shots of the shot cannon). Speaking of repetitive, mission objectives are basically the same throughout. Yeah, this is the type of game you slap on when you have nothing else to do or have about 30 minutes to burn before heading out. i can recommend tho, was clearly made by people who give a crap about their craft and made a decent, kinda fun isometric shoot em up. So you should give it a fair go.
