March 2025
I started playing the demo for this game years ago, through gaming websites. I decided to buy the whole game and I'm quite impressed with how the game has developed. It's mostly a mining game, getting the resources you need through mining to get better equipment to finish all the quests given to you. The art style is cute, and the story is also good. To me, for a downside, it's how easy it can be to die while in battle. You should always carry food that heals you and gives you energy because if you run out of either, you have to redo a day's worth of work. You can save with the hut, which gives you full energy, but if you're out adventuring where you don't have access to an easy save, you just have to be careful. Otherwise, I've loved this game before I was a Steam gamer and if you want a fun adventure and story, this is the game for you. Plus.... you can have pets and there's DRAGONS!

This game should be more well known. The gameplay and the exemplary progression are as good as the art/UI is crude. The ways that the game constantly throws new and cool stuff at you, even when you think you have seen everything is incredible. Starting from a Motherload mining type game and becoming SO much more, every second of the incredible journey is fun and constantly suprising, with very few dull moments. A true hidden gem and a shining example of the love and care that an indie game can carry. If you are even remotely interested in a terraria like/ sandboxy experience go into this game blind.

I've given this game so many hours of my life that I don't regret. One of the few games I happily payed for, from start to finish. Thank you.

Quite possibly the best adventure game I've played. Heard about it through a friend back in middle school, bought it recently after not playing for years, and now I've gone and completed it for the first time. It's very clear that a lot of thought went into the meshing of genres, and I quite enjoyed the tonal shift from a casual RPG to the endgame. There are crashes here and there, and there is no autosaving, but apart from those personal irks, Aground is a phenomenal game that anyone should try.
